Yes, that would add the final touch of class (and heaven alone knows how much he needs a touch of class....)In the rather delightful colour of.................. fluorescent yellow.
Easy he doesn't want to! He gets more money this way which is what he wants! Hard faced doesn't cover him.I’ve never been one to trust items from Etsy (unless they come with a CoA from a reputable lab), and especially not from platforms like Temu or AliExpress. Jade is one of the easiest and most commonly lab-created stones - and the Chinese are not the most trustworthy either.
However, I do trust Gem Select - a very reputable seller. They offer Jadeite at a fraction of Troth's prices, so if they can do it, there’s no reason why Troth shouldn’t be able to as well.
Take this for example. It may not be everyone's cup of tea, but this carved Elephant is just £8.83p
Jadeite carving on GemSelect
The 'carving' quality of this elephant is up there alongside some of Gem Collector's recent 'master carvings' (ie, crude, but OK for a 'cheap' stone).
I'd bet that something similar on Gem Collector would be priced at at least £50 if some of their other recent tacky 'carvings' are anything to go buy.
They usually show re-runs of Troth and his jadeshite at weekends, after Jeff's shows. So, as per usual on the 11pm slot, there's a re-run of one of Troth's Jadeshite shows.
A viewer messages in "Dave, is this genuine Jade or Quartzite?"
Dave Troth says "I can understand why you're asking that question with the deals that we're doing - this is 100% genuine Burmese Jade - it's not Quartzite"
So is this now an admission that his so called "Quartzite Jade" is only Quartzite after all?
Perhaps he had trapped windThey usually show re-runs of Troth and his jadeshite at weekends, after Jeff's shows.
He must have gone to an image consultant, because he was actually smiling! It didn't look right, though, very false - it just wasn't him!
I had to read that twice. I thought it said "crapping his trousers"Whenever I open this topic I always hear in my head, Eminem’s Slim Shady I’m back! And imagine Jade Trough rapping his lectures!
DT seems to be on practically all the time now. I’m finding it increasingly difficult to see how he could possibly be running another company with all the time he spends there. Surely that can’t succeed in the long term as it would need people to have an inordinate interest in buying jade and pearls . I thought I was a pearl lover lover until this. I’m bored out of my mind with them now. And the formula always seems to be the same. Show very expensive designer items and their price. Then flash pages of news articles or letters too fast for people to read even if they wanted to. Then the light box pictures with lights so bright they can hardly be seen. I wonder just how long it can continue before their viewers conclude their collections of jade and pearls are complete and go elsewhere to look for something new.I'm doing a mix and match. Just seen on TJC a Moroccan Amethyst piece for a tenner. And (reason I post here), a forthcoming at some point, olmec jade dragon necklace. Perhaps they bought them off DT for a song. It says it's a one off find of the month carved necklace. Sun. 15th. at 11
I can't say I am 'loopy' over Jade, but I wanted some, I bought some, I like it. Mainly beads (not 'globes', as Gems call them), but yes. I have to say I also like and have a fair few pearls: mainly strands. That was my JM days when I went through a phase of making, but predominantly keeping. I was so 'pleased' when I bought my first natural strand off Becky Reddican. Having said that, for all my past 'love' of those two items (still feels weird calling pearls, which is a natural 'protective' measure, gems or gemstones). Where was I going? Oh yes, for all that, that man has really dampened my enthusiasm, if not all but killed it for those two items.DT seems to be on practically all the time now. Same here.got some jade just to have some. Like it well enough. But I did really love pearls. Have all shapes and sizes. Even one or two Mikimoto . Now my reaction when I see them on Gems is “oh no not again” If I can reach that point I’m sure lots of other viewers can too. Seems to me they’d need a constant supply of new customers to keep that going. DT even seems to be on all night on repeat from the few times I looked. And the worst thing is they do have a lot of other jewellery in their inventory. They just don’t show it. And of course that means if anyone wants to buy they have to pay the site price which is excessive or wait for a good discount which is a rarity.I can't say I am 'loopy' over Jade, but I wanted some, I bought some, I like it. That proves a point, doesn't it? IF he's on repeat (even when he's 'live', he's on repeat), that implies they didn't have a sell out show at the time. No reason to show a repeat if there's no stock to sell, is there?DT even seems to be on all night on repeat from the few times I looked. That’s just it. Sometimes it seems to me they are going out of their way NOT to sell items. Now they are even severely restricting Jeff in what he can sell which was a good way for people to request items they don’t show on tv.That proves a point, doesn't it? You saying that, if a person was old fashioned and ONLY did their buying with a non-smart phone and the TV, it gives them a LOT they've missed out on. If you think about it, says he thinking mid sentence, some people might like the more unusual items. Not always wanting, or being able to afford, the 'top 5' and if they can't access, or don't know about the website, that's a lot of possible custom the channel has lost. So, more diversity on the TV please. (For all that, I'm agreeing with you )
I totally agree with you. I think their management of Gemporia is odd to say the least. The last ten loads from code I sent during Jeff's show could not be shown on air. All of these items are still for sale on the website. As you said, it looks like they don't want to sellThat’s just it. Sometimes it seems to me they are going out of their way NOT to sell items.
