Thanks, nice offer, but not necessary.It’s probably a press-on back. There might be a small indentation in it - if so you insert a thin, sturdy blade then the back will flip off (careful of fingers). They are the cheapest to make, so I’d be betting that’s what they’ll have used.
In any case - good luck. If I find a mechanism in the workshop I’ll PM you. I did have a few that I’d discarded because it was easier and cheaper just to fit a new one than to service an old one. They don’t have a value, so if I do see one I’ll pm you and you can have it. No promises, because I haven’t looked and it might be a while before I feel up to going in - but if I have one, you can have it.
I might play and disassemble. Like Lee Mack on WILTY I might enjoy learning more about watch internals.
I did see this once before a few years ago on a now defunct watch.
Or I'll have a look and try to fix. Not even sure it's a real problem.
Or I'll get my watch repairer friend to take a look. Not important.
