Create & Craft not taking payments

I have never really watched the channel, other than a fly-by, short stop, and not being a craft-y person, haven't bought from either this or HM 'next door' as I channel hop. But I saw an intro of a new poster here and they said they used to watch the channel. So, curiosity and all that. It says, as it is known, that it is not live, nor taking orders. Finally I get to the point. WHY is it still showing items on air? Why not 'take it off air' either until it gets itself sorted, or permanently. After all, and this isn't as stupid as it sounds, there may be folk who can't read well that well, but want to order off the channel and can't see they are not 'operating'. Maybe I'm being a little dramatic for a channel I don't partake in, but you get what I mean, I hope.
Having the item numbers dont help, could they have easily got rid of those graphics

I think they have to broadcast on TV to keep their channel slot.
Precisely. Some channels share airtime with each other for this reason. Whatever the amount of hours you agree to broadcast has to be covered otherwise you are in breach of that contract. Channel space is a hot commodity.

Watching one of the repeats now a Brother Sewing and Embroidery Machine for £2,900

How many of those high priced items would they really sell
How many flexi pays???

I wonder if that's why Martyn went 'on holiday' - he knew the station was about to fold.

Also not a good sign that Hochanda Global Ltd, C&C's owners, appointed a new director on 4 October who is currently an insolvency practitioner. They must be trying to work out if the business can be saved.

I did wonder that myself. I think he said he’d be back mid October. I know he was due to go to the NEC craft show towards the end of this month. With the current circumstances can’t see C&C being there.

Wonder if Martyn, would turn up elsewhere, If it does fold.

Can’t see him fitting in the IW Mould, as he isn’t a pushy type.

With Deans Partner working for IW wonder if he may move to IW
If C&C do go t.ts up, then I wonder if Martyn would just take redundancy and retire early. Can’t see him going to IW3 as it’s no way the same as IW before the Bid mob took over. If I remember right he and a few others went exclusively to present on C&C around that time.

Sure he has said before his wife has had health issues

Also remember him saying. He designed QVCs QCut

This will sound strange, but Create and Craft helped me through lockdown, I’ve never bought much, But the channel become a safe, Non Covid zone, almost escapism.

You had Jodie Johnson and Dawn Wheeler, who lived on site for months, so they had a guest they could use all the time

Think both slept in the offices, in the old Peterborough Studios for a while

I always remember Martyn as being very clumsy, imagine him and chef Mark in the same room. An accident waiting to happen!

I haven’t bought much in the way of craft stuff recently but frequently have C&C on as I found it quite interesting and entertaining. QVC aside, the other shopping channels seem to be filled with shouty, pushy presenters selling in most cases, tat. Even today it’s preferable to watch C&C repeats rather than Foghorn Jacks, Jade Trough and Patio Pete et al, and their dubious selling methods.
