Yeah, I think you could spec cpu 486sx or dx, disk size and ram memory etc.
Tiny or Time may have let you do similar over phone or by post or pick the spec from a mail order catalogue.
I liked their brands, more than Amstrad, but never bought any of them and sourced elsewhere.

Does anyone remember Gateway computers that came in cow printed boxes? From Northern Ireland, I think?
Yeah I had a Gateway 2000 PC.

The support of Amstrad computers passed to my company around 1999 when they finished manufacturing them and withdrew from the market. This kept us busy for quite a few years.
 
If I remember rightly there computers were made for you, you went to there store, told then the model you wanted, Two or Three weeks later it arrived
Time/Tiny had a poor reputation for post sales support. Customers got a premium rate telephone number to call which cost a fortune and was very inefficient. The whole group collapsed into oblivion in the early 2000s.
