I used mine yesterday to get creases out of a top that had just been delivered. Unlike a lot of my clothes it wasn’t an easy care one but all the creases came out. I did need to fill the water reservoir up twice although I only used half of the second top to get it crease free. It had a good percentage of cotton in it so I thought that was quite good going,

You’ve been really unlucky with some of your purchases lately, strato, 😕

I've just tried it on a shirt (cotton I think) from the wash that was very creased.

I am not impressed, it only partially removed the creases, and shirts are the only items I iron anyway. That was another omission in the presentation, how short a time the water lasted.

With all the refilling of the tiny reservoir, it probably took longer than ironing it; I refilled it at least 3 times.

So is it a return? I haven't decided yet, I will look at the shirt later when it has completely dried after the steaming, in case the creases have returned.
I will probably return it, it's not worth my while to keep it.

If I showed my steamed shirt to anyone, I'm sure they would think that it needs ironing.

Once again, I think the demo was "smoke and mirrors"

I think they had properly ironed all the garments BEFORE their demos, then just crumpled them up a bit to cause some superficial creases, which came out easily with the steam - - unlike my un-ironed shirt.
It's going back, return label on way!

It's the gadgety things that don't live up to the demos.

At least you can't really go wrong with Lock n Locks :)
All the gadgety things that I’ve bought, plus any lighting, have all worked well and I haven’t had to return any of them for not doing what was expected. I guess I’m just lucky.

I'm now thinking of getting another gadget, the thermometer that you shake. I have a few torches like this, they never need batteries or charging.

PP is reasonable. Should I risk it???

PS Come to think of it, you used to have to shake clinical thermometers!

No! Get a cheap one from Amazon (under £8). Mine takes three of those teeny batteries stacked on top of each other. I've had mine for almost a decade, used it a few times a week and replaced the batteries once.

It's not glamorous or gimmicky but it works and was cheap.

You'd probably only end up getting the one the guy used then folded over without wiping clean

Personally and in view of the amount of things you’ve returned recently, I’d say no but, of course, it’s up to you. 😉 It just sounds a bit of a gimmick to me. I bought a “bog standard” one from Amazon ….. and I don’t need to shake it. 😂

Can you please describe the travel bag to me? For example, what shape is it, how does it fasten etc.

The reason for asking is that I'm sure I returned the bag with my Tefal, but I have just found a bag and I've no idea what it's for, so I may have sent back the wrong bag.

The one I've found is about 10 in wide, 6 in high, not much depth (but I think the Tefal would fit it OK) and it has a flap on the long side that fastens with velcro.

I am completely baffled about what it is for, but it is new and unused.

Also, if anyone else has bought something with that type of bag, please let me know what it is for.

Rather than my waffling on trying to give a description of the bag for the Tefal steamer, I’ve just taken a quick photo of it. The bag you described sounds similar to the one that my hair straighteners go in, albeit a big larger, but I doubt you use straighteners. 😉

THANKS.

Definitely not like the mystery bag.

I never got as far as putting the steamer into the bag, so I didn't know about the draw-string closure.

I still can't think what the mystery bag is for.

I assume that you returned the steamer in the box with the bag like the one in the photo then?

Maybe your mystery bag once held one of your many torches or lights? 😉

All we’ve got to solve now is ……. what was in the mystery bag? 😉
I have a few ideas, now I have to try to find the instruction booklets for a few items to see where it belongs.

I suspect it came as an extra bag with a shopping trolley I bought a few months ago.

The mystery of the mystery bag remains.

I found the instructions for my recent shopping trolley, and I was right, it DID come with a bag.

But not that bag!

It came with an insulated bag that velcros onto the inside of the shopping trolley, and I have now found that bag (I haven't used it in the trolley).

So I still have the mystery bag I described earlier, and I have no idea what it came with. As well as Q, I buy lots of stuff online, so will have to look through my order history to try and nudge my memory, as I am now intrigued. BTW it did not come with a torch ;)

Where’s Sherlock Holmes when you need him?? 🔍

I’m sure you’ve spotted October’s POTM ……. 2 touch lamps. I know you prefer torches but these would increase the likelihood of being spotted from outer space if you switched everything on at the same time. 🪐

But if you ordered them and wanted to return them, at least you have a spare bag to pop them into. 😉

Just my biggest torch on its own could be spotted from outer space!
