And now they have taken it back, disgusting.

Someone on another forum said, it was going to be the Triple Lock which pensioners get or the fuel payment. The Triple Lock is worth more each year, and all pensioners get it.

It's the people who have done the right thing and saved for their later years either in pensions or in savings accounts that are the ones who are penalised. Makes you wonder why you bother. I've never even reached the lofty heights of the 'average wage' yet I've always saved into a pension but I may as well have spent it! It's only going to stop me from receiving any help when the time comes. What sort of message does that send to the younger generation?

They call it the triple lock, but it's the double whammy pension tax - you pay tax when you earn it and pay tax on it when you receive it !

I believe your MP should reside and come from the area he/she is representing. If they want a second home they should pay for everything themselves. There is no need to, with video conferencing etc, for anyone to go to London and voting should be easy to do that way as well.
I've noticed the Chancellor is still claiming a winter fuel allowance, I think the majority get their grubby hands on everything they possibly can.
I'm considering an email to the PM about all this claiming on second homes and meals etc with no receipts and authorisation that every company expects their employees to produce. When you consider the huge pensions and expenses etc that would go a long way to closing the box k hole in the finances .

I have emailed Rebecca Reeves stating why I think it's disgusting that pensioners lose their heating allowance and M.P.s still receive it for their second homes. Keeping hotels full for our " visiting" friends seems wrong on all levels they have paid nothing into our society just taken! Yet pensioners are hammered, will someone please explain this to me as I'm really don't get it.

I didn't realise that MPs got a heating allowance, that ridiculous. On their salaries it's easily affordable. What a bunch of hypocritical thieves.

I agree with everything with one small tweak....as they do have to go to the HofC to debate and for PMQs, why not put them all up in the same hotel that the illegal immigrants are put in? I'm sure a block booking of a few hundred rooms in a Travelodge or similar a couple of nights a week would be cheaper than all the second home allowances. The illegals are fed so I'm sure the MPs could use the same catering/canteen. Stop their subsidised dining room at the HofC and also, if the hotel is nearby, I'm sure they can get a travel card and use the tube rather than taxis.

I'd agree with this, plus that people often drift off topic and put in stuff that isn't really relevant to a particular question they've been asked. Always stick to the point and check that you have answered the question you were actually asked. You will probably also be asked the same question twice in different sections of the form, but in a slightly different way each time, checking to see if your answers tally.

They don't NEED a heating allowance, there's enough hot air coming out of them anyway....

I've also emailed Rachel Reeves and said they should be ashamed, but I doubt they are. More crass and unfair decisions to follow, no doubt. This is just the beginning. Why not just tell pensioners they'll have to get pneumonia or hypothermia, be rushed into hospital and cost the NHS money - makes perfect economic sense (not).

Meanwhile, let's carry on paying for MP's second homes, which they should blurdy well finance themselves.

Just been into the website, searched under 'Age UK Petition re: Removal of pensioners' heating allowance'. Petition now signed by both of us. I've also emailed a complaint to my local MP.

Saw on the news last night that Lord Alli donated half a mill to labour and also about 20 grand to Starmer for clothes and specs! Same old same old already. What a joke. Anyway his lordship’s largesse earned him a precious free pass to parliament. Country before party? I don’t think so.
