Yankee Candles, massive price rise!

I've never bought exclusively from QVC- and didn't buy the OTO the other day because, although I like Mountain Lodge and Tahitian Tiare Flower, I've had Pink Carnation before, and there wasn't much scent, and what there was didn't smell like carnations at all.
I get SCW's point about selling at the high price so they can reduce for a special offer - I was just shocked at the sudden jump to the big £50! lol.
I think in the future I'll be searching out the scents I really love individually in the Yankee stores, and on Ebay.... and trying new brands in TKMaxx/HomeSense :)

I discovered a brand called Root in my local garden centre, far stronger in smell than anything from Yankee. Whether I became 'nose blind' I don't know, but after a few hours of the same Yankee scent, I couldn't smell it ! Then when re-lit there was a faint 'hint' of the fragrance before it disappeared again, so only buy the votives now - cheaper and shorter to burn.

Can't agree about Pink Carnation. It has a very strong throw to me and the prettiest pool in next to no time. Smells like L'air du Temps, which has Carnation at the core of the notes. I totally agree about the price of QVC large jar trios. I am using up the ones I have and looking for the large jars I want later, when heavily reduced with free postage.

"Candle Price Rise Puts QVC Customers in Meltdown!" Stephen Corfield changed his brand of hair shampoo / conditioner from "Wash & Go" to Philip Kingsley, so something had to cover the additional expense.
