Well I popped in for a looky prompted by this thread - I spent a fortune on a ring elsewhere last week and I've been avoiding Rocks coz I'm broke!
First thoughts - it's not great. It's confusing, even more so with the chat being shuffled from one room to another. And it's a huge shame not to be allowed to chat to the presenter.
Having said that, I can totally understand that maybe they don't want the presenters being distracted with long conversations about other people's ailments and favourite bars of chocolate or whatever.
HOWEVER - I feel I have to add that I can't believe how childish the reaction has been from grown adults. Instead of contacting Steve by email and explaining the above, it's been like watching 3 year olds having a tantrum at Tesco because they can't have chocolate. The huffing and outrage has been way over the top - it's not like chat is gone, it's just moved to another room. Fair enough, people are not pleased, people seldom like change. And as I say, I don't like it either! But organising a chatroom revolution just all seems too petty considering that more peaceful methods of getting things changed back haven't even had time to be tried.
This by the way is an overall impression, I am not picking out any individuals, and of course everyone has a right to react as they see fit. But frankly, it smacks of blackmail and I can imagine it will end with no Rocks Chat at all.
I'd have thought that a reasoned discussion on a thread like this being brought to Steve's attention would have far more chance of the reverse in policy everyone wants.
I also got the impression that people are taking the whole thing far too personally, I seriously doubt it's meant as the major insult to their old customers that many seem to take it for.
Okay, now you all hate me I'll shut up!
