"Who is not happy with the "old" chit/chat room Idea

Hi everyone, I don't know how many of you feel the chit/chat room "old" Idea is the best way forward for Rockstv... if anything its going backward.
I for one remember the very early days when they had two rooms and "Wiggi" a rocks forum type thing.....that got disbanded too for unruly bullying behaviour.

"Well the two room chit/chat didn't work then, and I can't see it working now!!!!!

I feel very miffed by the change, :11: and now they have two rooms to monitor not one...where's the sense in that!! :33:
Also any new people registering will not get the happy welcome we all give out, also the help we all try to offer them with any questions they may have...

At the moment I'm a very unhappy Rocks customer, and I hope that our views count for something.:31:

i've only ever seen 1 chat section on rocks tv, would the chit chat room be for non jewellery chat? If so, then that doesn't sound like a bad idea really. I don't go on rockstv often at all, but when i have done i have noticed alot of personal chat going on that seems slightly clicky almost. Perhaps a seperate area for that might be ok so the main chat page can stay about jewellery currently on screen etc. Hope i've not offended anyone with my opinion, I am not a rocks tv regular and i am sure the regulars prob would know better than me

I think it seems like a good idea. The very few times I have been on (a handful) and requested an item, I've been ignored for ages because there's a lot of chitchat going on. I think it's great that there's a place for friends to have a natter and a room more dedicated to the business in hand ie, the jewels!! I thought it was a good idea at first, but with the lack of interaction with the presenter on chit-chat, have more-or-less ignored the jewellery.

Also I think a big part of what makes Rocks unique is the interaction with the presenter and there is only so much interaction you can have about jewellery.

Rocks will bein danger of becoming a clone of the tv jewellery channels - heaven forbid

I just hope Steve, Sarah John, or Tony will come along and can shed some light on why they have changed things again.. creating ill feeling amongst it's regular buyers and chatters...

I agree it is ery annoying when your requests are not seen by presenter because chat going fast but in all fairness chat has neer been the place to post requests.

All presenters constantly ask requests to be sent either via email to [email protected] or into Chat Lie.

The 2 rooms idea in pricipal isnt bad. However if you are sat in "chit chat" room just watching and an item comes up unexpectedly and you need to ask a question, you can miss out while changing rooms and typing your question...not a good thing!

I dont know the solution if i'm honest, but not entirely sure 2 rooms is it. Rocks please don't lose your "personality" by stopping interaction with presenters too much...that is what made you "unique and likeable" in the first place.

I am a bit divided tbh........I can understand that for new people entering the chatroom that it may seem a bit intimidating,there are lots of regular chatters who may talk about various stuff non jewelery related,and to those people,such as gemdremer,this appeas to be cliquey.

We regulars know that is not the case however,all people are welcome and encouraged to join in but they may not know/feel that I suppose.

It is also fair to say that sometimes,especially on a slow selling time that chat can become about anything not related to jewellery.I,myself,am also guilty of cheeky banter,meant in the nicest way of course,but I also know that it was not appreciated by some(it was mentioned in the chatroom the other night by a fairly new member).I apologised immediately for any offence caused,as that was never my intention,and it seemed to be accepted........it's all too easy to cross boundarie sometimes,though I know the regular chatters know me well enough and are not offended by it.

It is also easy for questions and queries to get missed also due to the chat moving so fast.

However..........I do also think that the fun side of Rocks may disappear with this system.Part of what makes Rocks so good is the interaction we have with the company through mainly the presenters.A lot of regulars buy an awful lot of products,so while their chat sometimes goes off topic they are still buying......and even if sometimes they are not buying,they are still there to welcome newbies,answer their queries,sing the praises of the company etc etc.

Hiyers Myra,

As you'll be aware I haven't been in for a couple of weeks or so, even after my computer fiasco, so wasn't aware of this. I've not been in so much as every time I have looked in it's been the same old pieces being auctioned, a good quantity of which I now (and gratefully) possess. I also popped into chat on a couple of occasions and got no response from anyone so slipped away again. I didn't take it personally, I'm sure it was because chat was moving so fast and a large proportion of folk probably didn't know me from Adam.

I'm therefore not quite sure how I feel about this. On the one hand it's very sad as it's going to be too hard to keep track of two rooms, but on the other maybe growth has forced the Rocks guys to try and split chat. However, as you rightly say, this will certainly remove some of its individuality.

Also, for the record Rocks guys, your loss has been Gems's gain and I felt like a complete traitor. I know where I'd rather spend my loot, but have to get my jollies somewhere. I did see the new stones show, but none of it was set.

Perhaps I'll look in later to see what's happening, that's if I can find my way around. I'll look out for you Myra, and you too Sweepie. Speaking of Sweepie, perhaps the second room is a Rocks version of the naughty step, so I'd better not go in there in case one of you is too cheeky and offends my delicate lugholes.

I agree Mirabelle, although I don't chat much, I enjoyed the chat as it was, and you did have the option to delete any posts you thought offensive or too irrelevant. Part of the appeal of Rocks was this feature and I fear a lot of people will be unhappy that this "double"chat room is back again!!

We all receive e-mails keeping us updated of the coming shows why didn't we receive e-mail telling us about the new chit chat room?

I think the chat room idea has caused some disappointment, the chat kept me on the site and consequently buying and the biggest part of that was the interaction between the chatters and the presenters. At the moment that has gone and having to switch between the chatrooms in order to ask the presenter a question means the stuff is likely to have sold or closed before you get the chance to buy!
I don't like it I'm afraid.

well im furious! how dare someone tell me what i can talk about!!im 44 not 4 yrs old, and as for ur chat being thrown out of rocks in to chit chat well, thats ridiculous. rocks have really shot themselves in the foot with this! it was poorly thought out, and badly implemented. nobody likes it, well that ive seen,its antagonized the main customer base, when there was absolutely no need for.All in all a disgraceful way to treat your customers.

Hi, sorry, im a bit confused, think maybe i've missed something, as i said i don't go on rocks tv often. I don't understand why adding a second chat room for general chat would be causing ill feeling amongst regulars? I understand that people perhaps like going on there from the chat aspect, but if rocks tv feel that new buyers are being put off in some way by the chat then perhaps they feel the best solution is to add a second chat room, that way everyone wins. The regulars who like to go on and generally chat about lots of stuff can still do so, but the main chat area would still remain based on the items being auctioned and would then perhaps be less off putting to non regulars?

Still I reckon it will save me money as I can check on CR if there is anything new and only bother to go into chat to make a specific request.

Can chat on chit chat if I feel like it without noticing the jewellery - don't even need to have it visible as have now discovered how to have chat running on it's own.

you can still interact with the presenters on jewellery related chat though can't you? on the normal chat room, just not on random chat, is that how its now working? if that is the case i don't think rocks tv see you as second class at all, i am sure they are just trying to keep all customers happy, old and new.
