do any of you find things worse if you lay on your back? I prop myself up with a wedge of pillows anyway, to keep the acid down (which I shouldn't get, being on acid suppressants you'd think?!) but sometimes in a morning when I wake up I roll onto my back and THEN comes the "stone on breastbone" pain, and then I wonder how did I sleep thru it and get indigestion in the morning?? or is it morning mini heart attacks??
I sleep on my front, a habit I got into when I had gallstones I think & now I find it hard to sleep otherwise! The 'spreading out across chest' pain does not go well with this however, mind you, neither does lying on my back, it hurts either way!
100 times worse when i lay down. It.just.burns across.my chest. The Dr told me its because the acid disperse across the chest.
Good to know but no help when you''re in agony.
Quick question whilst we're sharing. Does anyone else get very hot and sweaty when they having. the other symptoms?
Yes, very hot, I presumed it was mainly due to verging on panic though! lol
I had repeated gastric pain as a child and our GP told my mother I would grow out of it. I had my first gallstone attack at 25 and was told it would probably be a "one off" but they continued to grumble away until I had surgery about 15 years later.
I now get something called Tietze's Syndrome allied to my RA - pain radiating out from the breastbone through the ribs - and, apparently, that can mimic the pain of a heart attack or gastric pain.
Sounds nastily familiar. Very. Exact description actually. The other night the pain had spread to my upper arms & I was so stiff & tense I wrenched my deltoids, pectorals, everything, still hurts to move too much.
Back to kitten at the beginning of this thread - has coeliac disease has been eliminated as a possibility for you?
Ta to Dis & Sparkly for bringing this up. Not been tested, oh I might have been, I forget, I've had every other ruddy test. Unlikely as I eat a lot of pasta & am mainly fine, though I stick to only two known to be ok brands. I do have a major problem with flour, cheap flour especially, the cheapo bags are a no no for baking & I react badly to Ikea crispbread which is covered in a dusting of flour! Crackers for cheese, no!
I reacted unpleasantly the other week to something & all I had eaten recently was some live Morrison's Greek yoghurt, eh, isn't that supposed to be
good for your inner workings??? Despite no gall bladder (wonderful thing greed, happy to suffer for the cause! lol) I can eat a piece of cheesecake but not a piece of shortbread, huh?
It's all very confusing isn't it, you think you have a pattern & then.....you don't! :wonder:
