I wish I could say this will never happen again but I can`t. I`m glad you got some recompense but Q really need to tighten up on returns being sent out again. It`s such bad practise and hardly encourages people to buy from them.

I have to say that this whole experience you've had has really put me off. It's shocking to think this happened and I cannot think for one minute how on earth they could explain this ?! You're a better person than I for accepting £20 as I'm not sure it makes amends. Will be checking any products thoroughly in future and luckily BM and LE usually have individual seals but I confess to not fully checking them on receipt usually

Do we trust their "cleaning" process for returned pierced earrings?

I once received a set of interchangeable Kenneth J Lane earrings all had silicone blobs on every hoop - straight from the QVC studios display light box LOL

A definite way to know if you have something that's been returned previously, is if on the label/barcode, it has "HGRT", (followed by 2 initials). This stands for Hardgood Returns, and the 2 initials are that of the person who scanned it. (Used to work there!)
