Advanced Orders could cost more than you think!
I once wanted a TSV Lola Rose bracelet and that then came on Advance Orders, with a 'date expected', I thought great as that coincided with pay-day, however it didn't arrive until 3 weeks later (which obviously didn't coincide with payday) and they tried to take the money out, unfortunately there was not enough money in the account to honour the order, I know they say on the TV to make sure that there is enough money in and that they will e-mail you etc, whilst I did get an e-mail this was for the original advance order date (the payday one), which came and went, I contacted CS and they stated that it should be with me in the next week and no money would be taken until the item was dispatched, I thought OK, I will keep the money back for 1 week, this came and went and nothing, I then contacted CS to try and cancel the order, I am taking it that the non-Poiroits out there can work out the ending to this sorry saga. What really narked though was that I got an extra charge from my bank to say that I couldn't honour a 'pre-payment' agreement (or words to that effect), evidently it turns out that QVC put a 'pre-sale' through on the card, then when the item comes back in stock and gets sent out it automatically takes the money, this is fine but apparently (certainly the case with my bank), this means that if the money isn't there I get a charge for a missed (what equates to a SO payment). I was confused and narked (fortunately my Bank as GOGW refunded the charge, as apparently this is a problem not just with Q but with other mail-order catalogues.
This happened last year so things may have changed now, I have risked it since!
Oh and just as a footnote Jill Franks swore on TV on the High Tech show on at 17:00 today, she said off (what you do when you go to the toilet off)
