You make up your own mind. This was on at 14.58pm today and you can see the item that was being discussed in the photo below. This is what was said on air, verbatim:
Tony Diniz - "This gemstone has no beryllium, no diffusion at all"
Vicki Burton - "What do you mean by Beryllium diffusion?"
Tony Diniz - "Corrundum the gemstone, we're talking rubies and sapphires, are normally very very included gemstones so because there's a rarity of finding clean material, it's so so uncommon to find that material. It's very common practice to fill those fissures in, so filling in the cracks in the gemstones. Now the padparadscha sapphires we use have no filling. The quality is so superb that we have people question saying why are you bringing such special prices on these gemstones. Simple, I ............ [goes on to say how he bought the gemstones]."
So, gemstone anoraks ...... exactly WHAT has Tony described?
Has he described Beryllium Diffusion? NO NO NO.
Has he described fissure/fracture filling? Yes.
Are the two the same? NO.
If you're selling gemstones then giving information should be ACCURATE.
This is an easy read and very interesting. It clearly defines what BE diffusion is:-
