This is why I no longer shop with QVC...

I do think QVC are quite out of touch where their P&P is concerned.I've shopped with lots of "big" companies online and mostly I've got free P&P.

Where I haven't,I've only paid one P&P for several items.Yankeedoodle, who in my opinion is not a big as company as M&S,Tesco, debenhams etc - still only charged me £2.95 for 7 large heavy candles.

This is the things that gets up my nose about QVC.I wouldn't :) but say for instance I wanted to buy a matching skirt and top in Kim & co yesterday..........ooh and the matching cardi (honest I really really wouldn't :) - to buy the set,I'd have to pay 2 or 3 lots of £3.45? To me I think thats really bad - especially if i've placed those 2/3 orders in the space of 15 minutes.

I like QVC-but when I do go to the high street,I realise the high street is not so bad - however QVC is about convenience and I suppose you're paying for that - and that the 30mbg.

I agree with you. Yesterday I did some more Xmas shopping on Amazon for my nearest and dearest. I put in an order for more than one item and got free super saver delivery (ie 0p!) on it, with a despatch/delivery estimate of 15th December. With QVC you could pay anything up to £6 or even more postage and it STILL wouldn't come in the 5-7 working days stipulated. Plus what you get might be a scabby ol' return anyhoo.

I order from MyPure fairly regularly as they very often have good deals on p&p often with free samples/free products thrown in and everything usually arrives within 24-48hours by City Link or DHL.

Yes but if Amazon can afford to do it and deliver within a few days, why can't qvc?

Because they want greater profit margins on the items they do sell!

I would guess being a tv channel etc they have higher overheads as well!

We tend to forget that QVC predominately sells via TV and unlike Amazon, the web is secondary or more of a complement to the main focus. I haven't looked yet but my guess is that the majority of sales come through the phone. As pointed out above all of this is admin costs and maintenance and getting a phone number from a web seller isn't easy.
Most e-retailers have little overheads which they can offer seemingly good deals. Though with QVC's supposed buying power you'd have thought that would extend to postage!

I returned a coat the other week and sent it first class, rather than by special delivery. I got an email 3 days later telling me that it had been received and that my refund would be back in my bank account within 5 days ...... and it was. :)

Let's face it, Ideal World are at the same game. Take the 'Pampering Weekend' or the 'Win 24' gambling item. Both are no more than a certificate in an envelope - you CANNOT tell me that it costs near-on £6 to send a bit of card out in an envelope [even with personel costs included].

I won't buy anything where the P&P looks unreasonable or I am picking up the slack for returns.

To those who celebrate it, Happy Crimble!

Thanks, flower :D. I was going to say I loved your dinnerladies sig too, but you changed it! However, I'm loving your new one too. Very good indeed:mysmilie_696:

:mysmilie_348: The dinnerladies one'll be back honey. :mysmilie_84:

I had to paraphrase the QVC email a teeny weeny bit - but not much tbh. I just edited for space and added the "tough titty" part, but that was the general gist of what she said anyway. I just phrased it more succinctly. :D
