Anyone remember when both bid tv and price drop tv could sell anything?

i.e. something like the rechargable sonic toothbrush which now goes for £1 and normally the clock ends the sale as not enough buyers come in.

Back in 2004 on a product like that there would be a quantity of about 400 and they would all sell out at about £15 in around 6 minutes without even the mention of a clock.

Since those days the phone call has increased from £1 to £1.53 and the p&p has risen from £6.99 to £7.99 so what is to blame for the decline in recent years?

Lack of product variety?
Lower quality products?
Bad presenters?
Lack of advertising?
Novelty of falling price auctions worn off?
Bad customer service putting people off buying again?

Simples They have made too many products go for a £1 so people expect it the products they now sell are low end cheap end of the market no longer bicycles and games consoles. They also have too many so people will think can come back next week might be cheaper.

Remember not so long ago there was a promotion which mentioned "big brand names" such as Sony, Samsung and Nike...they even seem to have dropped that 'idea' in recent weeks.

Let's face it, these channels were never that upmarket to begin with but at least there were more branded products offered; nowadays there are far fewer quality branded products for sale. (Even Ingersoll seems to have vanished more recently.) Plus other brands that are basically licenced names...when were Polaroid noted battery manufacturers, for example?

And their bicycles nearly always looked rubbish as well :giggle:

Fire blankets, and anything else to scare daft old biddies into handing over their cash.
