I beg to differ on this one Argey! The differing shades mean it can compliment an array of colourful outfits giving far more opportunity to don the delightful beauties. The stitching, as momma cleverly pointed out, adds to the rainbow effect. Truly a marvel of modern day shoe-makery!!!!

Those of you who find Fly Flots funny (and yes they aren't high fashion) obviously don't have problem feet. I have bought Fly Flots and they are comfortable and fit well. I have EEE-EEEE feet! It is almost impossible to get decent, comfortable shoes to fit and although I wouldn't wear my Fly Flots to a party or a special event, they are actually really good for casual wear and really comfortable.

Sorry ceejayblue. I'm certain nobody means to cause upset. I think it's more to do with the way IW present them as being high fashion when clearly they're not. I've heard Debbie and Denise say they would happily wear them to parties! :1:

That's OK. I know that they aren't everyone's thing and I'm not upset at people making comments about them really, its just that sometimes it seems that people knock them because they aren't their style of shoe and haven't even tried them. I have got shoes and sandals and they are all really comfortable (except my toe post ones, because of the way I walk I need a bit more support!)

I think the same goes for Birkenstocks! You either love them or hate them. I certainly didn't like the price of them and bought imitations. Now I've got a proper pair I've changed my mind and really like them.

Its all horses for courses I suppose.

I have to say I've done my fair bit of taking the mick out of them, but I do wear them a lot myself - I have about 5 pairs, they might not be the higest fashion, but they're ****** comfy when you're on your feet a lot or trampling round town. I've got the heeled mules with the court shoe type heel on them, and they are really nice with jeans or a long skirt. My other pairs are mainly slippers for in the house - but they do do some really cute black and white cow print ones that I've been wearing as slippers and loads of folks who've come to the house ask me what they are/where they're from etc as they like them...

I think these do look as if they are trying to copy Birkenstocks....but at the same time they remind me of the sorts of sandals very elderly great aunts used to wear when I was about 10!!! (and that was a long time ago lol)

I have problem feet and joints and so i do wear fly flots for that reason around the house and sometimes to work. I couldn't wear them to parties though and I do think they need to concentrate more on fashionable ones with a bigger heel for those of us that would like to be comfortable without looking like humpty dumpty

Do you lose your balance in Flyflots? The reason I ask is that it looks similar to walking round with a couple of latex mattresses strapped to your feet. They just seem a bit springy and unstable.

No, quite the opposite. If anything, they seem to stabilise you more as they absorb your weight so if you're slightly off balance you don't fall over. I find i'm more likely to go over on a rigid heel than a flyflot. I've twisted my ankle a few times wearing scholls years ago.
