I've just put a thread about the StriVectin-SD Intensive Concentrate For Existing Strech Marks 177.4ml Ultra Concentrated Stretch Mark Formula, in The Drop as I'm selling 2 on behalf of my SIL, who stock piled these following her pregnancy.

She found them to be very effective but I've never used the brand myself, so can't comment one way or the other. The only thing I would say is that I do like a beauty purchase myself, it gives me pleasure and within the scheme of harmful hobbies, it's not exactly on par with drinking or smoking, so I guess each to their own!

haha, you got me down in the believer camp when i am really mainly a sceptic with humility (and have read my Ben Goldacre and all that)
but i am also one for looking at the specifics of something, rather than 'being married to one's position' - so there you go, for £2.20 i am going to give it try

btw, while i haven't used Revitalash, i have used a similar concept Rapidlash, it has made a great difference to my lashes (but i am also trying out castor oil on my lashes for a DIY solution)

thanks for this minim, unfortunately nothing conclusive here bar the fact that there isn't an independent study - and there isn't likely to be one as neither you and me or any other independent party will pay for one to be done !
unfortunately that is the way of the world these days with the regulating bodies/quangos being funded by the industry players themselves

i think (but happy to stand corrected if wrong/out of date) there is still no proof that amalgam in teeth is toxic or safe - why is that ? cos noone has spaid to do an independent study with the notable exception of the swedish government in the last millenium

so really what i am saying is that the fact that there is no independent study/proof for the efficacy of many things is because
a) either the party who has financial interest in the product sponsors some research which makes in not really independent (albeit i would be happy to look at the methodology before making a final judgement)
or
b) nobody is interested to pay for an independant study, hence it never happens

so, the absence of an independent study neither tells me that a product does or doesn't work !

My only concern is the claims that these companies make.
If this product was so effective then people would no longer opt for botox or any other procedure.

Just Beauty Direct, what is your opinion on Gatineau please ? as they claim to be the anti-ageing brand.
The Strivectin woman used to be on Q with Shiseido way back, she used to say that was the be all and end all of skincare, so what is she a good advert for I wonder.

I can't really comment on new Gatineau products as I haven't bought any. I did love the exfoliating foamy face wash and Floracil. I didn't really rate the neck cream. I loved the lip treatment though.
I recently had a Decleor facial and fell back in love with Angelique. I have always loved the phytopeel and I like their new cleanser. I much prefer decleor face care to Elemis. But that is just me.
At the moment I am loving the Perricone Vitamin C treatment that I am using underneath my Decleor.
I also like the Emma Hardie mornings balm and the exfoliating beads

It's not that long since Frankie was on with the Freeze 24 woman claiming that Freeze 24 was the most fantastic product, and that she (Frankie) couldn't live without it!

My problem with Strivectin and so many other ranges is the number of products. How do you know what to buy? There seems to be so many options I wouldn't know where to start nor does it make me want to find out. I want good skin but I don't want to use lots of lotions and potions one after the other.

I agree that nothing other than surgery can reverse the ageing process, I can't help but want to slow it down. I am blessed with good genes and a chubby backside. Both help keep the wrinkles at bay.

I have only used one item from this range and the results were amazing. Last year I developed some areas of pigmentation which really troubled me. I tried Clinique and Alpha H but with no results. I then read an article about the Strivectin Get Even Brightening Serum. Within a few weeks the problem had completely cleared up. It was quite expensive but worth every penny. If I were to have any other specific skin issues I would certainly look to the Strivectin range of products.

For various reasons that I shan't bore you with, I regularly see a dermatologist. He told me quite categorically that nothing will "stop the march of time" or "hold back the years" or "reverse the appearance of ageing" or any of the other bonkers claims made by the cosmetic industry.

Healthy, clean and moisturised skin that is protected against the damaging effects of the sun's rays is all anyone should be striving for - good genes are a bonus.

I understand this dermatologist is a man and from experience I can tell that men don't care much about ageing.
In other words I don't think he would research into ageing, just knows how skin and body work in average individual.

When I was watching presentation at 7 pm I was thinking how drab her face was and surprised by such a positive comment earlier. I could swear she doesn't use Strivectin on her face because I do, and can see real results. Yes we are all different, but it doesn't seem that Frankie uses it on regular basis, if at all. I only use it once a day, not twice and she is nowhere near from what I can see.
She did say that she uses the neck Strivectin and I believe this because her neck is in much better condition than her face.
Sometimes I see that a model's skin doesn't look good and it gives me doubts that they may not use QVC skincare, just modelling it. Yes, they have to use different brands daily on TV and I do feel sorry for them as it may be the cause of poor skin condition. I also noticed that models who demonstrate Revitalash do use it, but in early days presentations looked dreadful with models with sparse and short lashes painting nothing on their eye lids.
The Strivectin Guest on the other hand looks really good and they made a comment that she is over 60.

I have to thank everyone for all their input. You can get the main product, the concentrate in the pink & white tube, at fairly reasonable prices elsewhere & I was tempted until I heard that the product has peppermint oil in it. My face would probably suffer long term rosacea and horrid large spots if I put that ingredient anywhere near my face & neck! It took me months & the use of Obagi specialist rosacea cream to get rid of the aftermath of such a breakout. My skin is now clear & I'd never put it at risk if I know that a cream could set all that off again. Cheers ladies & gents, the comments on this thread have put me wise. Funny I didn't hear Alison mention the peppermint oil in it, having seen her wax lyrical about the product for ages, could that possibly be because such a revalation may damage sales I wonder?! :cheeky::mysmilie_504:

I'm happy for the prople who have seen results with Strivectin but for sensitive skin I for one wouldn't risk it, even a patch test could set a reaction off depending on the ingredients.

I'm sticking to Elemis PCMC, Linda Lusardi, JW serum & Obagi, great products imo.

I don't think they are but everyone is different I guess hun. My skin can get inflamed by even a patch test as I have recently learned & I've had no reaction to her cream & serum. The smell is very subtle and I'd imagine is partly due to the edelveis, (prob spelt that wrong), flower extract in it. My mum has fair skin, I'm olive & we both love it. The cream does sink in with no residue which I like. Nothing worse than a shiny greasy layer of gunk on your face & neck.
I'd describe the smell of her range as light, clean & fresh. x
