Some clearance!

On SKY EPG I saw that a 'coloured diamond clearance hour' was scheduled between 1 and 2pm (Stacey presenting).

Hardly anything was sold (if anything) and why.....well comparing these clearance prices to web prices, there was no difference in the pieces that I checked! Naive of me to suppose that clearance prices meant genuinely lower prices
in a live auction! :dull:

Even one very expensive natural pink diamond pendant on website was only reduced by £25 and now I see its price
on the web has been lowered to match.

And she was referring to 'auctions'. How can it be an auction when in reality everything is being sold at a timed fixed price?

Its not an auction with any of their items as they go to a price and then put a timer on! But atleast this means that the presenters don't need to shout out as to what great price it is etc etc.

Agree regarding clearance, I have seen most items sold for the same price as before.

Definition of "auction" to jewellery channels = we give you a quick flash of the goodies, tell you to buy it (plus a few embellishments) and you just do what you're told, when you're told.
