Ha Ha. her Mam must have a big house, I wonder if she has art as well? Sadly I missed Lisa's presentation of a Kinkade last night but somehow I doubt I missed anything.

I was doing some googling about Kinkade yesterday, did you know a lot of his paintings were allegedly not even painted by him but rather churned out by a pool of artists working for his company? If that is true (and i'm not saying it is) then it might explain the enormous amount of art that has his name attached to it.

His work dosen't seem very well respected in art circles does it but i'm sure Lisa will just say that is snobbery.

Yes I was a bit shocked by that, he'd come in sometimes and just do a few strokes :giggle:

He seemed a let's say quite a complicated character but when you're a genius you can be forgiven for anything. I love the way they always say his art is in millions of American homes as if that is a barometer of exquisite taste but let's remember this is a country who elected George W Bush, twice!

I'm sure Peter Simon's tush has been poking out from a few bushes :movie:

I'm just watching him now with the turtles, he loves them as they add character to any garden or lawn.

They have currently sold 1593 of them

Well, you know how the saying goes... there's one born every minute

When you take the charges into account the mark up must be absolutely massive, I bet they barely pay £1 for garbage like that. Peter said they will last for years, I bet the light dosen't!

Imagine how many they would sell without £9+ in charges.

They probably make more selling less items but with the charges, it's banked money as it's non refundable.

That's how their business has probably survived so long.

oh indeed, it's great for the margins. I just meant in terms of quantity... considering it's possibly the worst item they have ever sold, objectively speaking.

They sold a set of three Hen Ornaments the other day that bizarrely had really oversized string legs, they were truly bizarre and I can only assume the legs were designed to dangle from a mantle piece. Birkett could barely keep a straight face at the start of the sale, in fact he was laughing. I think they had 73 or something like that, they sold out!

They really do sell some truly garish stuff but there's obviously people who love it. They definitely know their audience, that's for sure!

This will sound ludicrous but I enjoyed the fact they were selling something that wasn't clothes or diy equipment, it seems to be the only things they sell, they go from one to the other, every 3 and a half hours.

garden centres sell similar "quirky stuff" and it also flys out the door

ok its better quality but the same massive mark up applies, i worked in one briefly about 10 years ago when studying and the mark up was the highest on anything there on the odd statues/water features novelty figures

Beauty boutique on again, another thing only sell.Come on bid u can do better than this.

But they sell it without the £10 of quirky extras you can't get back if you return them.
