I think I read somewhere that the SBC collagen products contain alcohol, but cant remember how long ago I read this to find the thread

Does anyone know if this is both the gel and the serum?

I have been on the SBC site but they don't give you the list of ingredients

I have dry skin so wouldn't put anything with alcohol in it on my skin.

On the gel bottle, the second ingredient listed is Alcohol Denat and further down is Benzyl Alcohol

Could anyone tell me what benefits alcohol adds to a beauty product please ?

Its a preservative, used in many brands high end, low end. Stops the product going off too quickly. Without it your beauty products would be off within a week. That is off course if they are really natural and organic.

Alcohol denat (or denatured alcohol) has been processed so that someone who likes alcohol cannot drink it (can't imagine drinking vodka in gel form!) seriously though it's treated so that is tastes unpleasant if someone tried to ingest it. It can come from natural sources.

Benzyl Alcohol is also a preservative and antiseptic and comes from plants.

Alcohols are not all necessarily bad or drying and does depends on type and the percentage used.
