Rocks Request System

As said earlier i know its an auction and all is fair in that sense. However in my case earlier it was said clearly in chat that it was the last one (when the auction was started) and who's request it was. In such cases i personally would not go in for that piece...just my personal point of view. I've missed out on many pieces before to snipers also. My point of this thread was that Rocks current system dosent make it very fair on the requester/requestee when there is only one item left.

I'm afraid I wouldn't know whether an item was a request because I very rarely turn on the Chat now and I also usually have the sound turned down. If something comes up that I like and it's he right price, I'll bid on it, so apologies to anyone if I've unwittingly thwarted their request.
I did request a tanzy ring last week and was told it couldn't be auctioned as it was the last one, so I bought it off the Coloured Rocks site.

A slightly different slant on this ............ one of the reasons I stopped watching Rocks was the continuing whining and moaning by people requesting and requesting and requesting items in the Chat - over and over and over again. When the item was put on, they very rarely bid, explaining that it went for £11 last time and this time it only dropped to £13 FFS. It made my blood boil.

As for sniping - whilst I wouldn't do it to one of my forum friends - I would do it to somebody I didn't know if it was a piece I liked, wanted, could afford and it went to a price I was willing to pay. I do this on Ebay all of the time so I don't see why Rocks should be any different!

I do think however that Rocks should have one policy and stick to it. It always seems to change from presenter to presenter and I've seen more arguments and moans about X does it this way and Y just did this. It would be better to have one system and stick to it. If it changes then announce it and stick to the new way for all.

Exactly!!! They can't want it that bad if they whine over a difference of a couple of pounds.

Meesh and Keisha, I agree 100% over that point, a few pounds difference is neither here or there, especially when the majority (not all, i appreciate) will have built a basket and the total P+P will have been lost in the difference they are quibbling over.
