Like many people I was gutted when L’Oreal discontinued the Decleor brand. I was very keen on their Hydra Floral rich moisture cream, it just suited me perfectly. I’m down to the last possible smear at the bottom of my last jar … god knows how old it is …
But what can I replace it with?

Have you tried the Liz Earle superskin? That might suit.
I'm similarly frustrated that L'Oreal binned the brand rather than perhaps selling it and its formulations to another investor. I always found the Decleor products I used to be very effective.

I used to use Hydra Floral but stopped after L'Oréal changed it. I really like Inkey List Ceramide Moisturiser, avaliable in lots of places and price really reasonable.

Haha well guess what? I did a deep stash dive - so deep I had to get hubby to hold onto my ankles - and I found another pot of hydra floral rich cream, two bottles of Iris aromescence, and two pots of Iris night balm, all in a 40th anniversary bag, which dates it to 2014! It’s been kept in a cold, dark place, so I hope it’s still usable 🤞🏼

I found some Decleor recently which was over 3 years old and it was only fit for the bin!!!

If it hasn't been subjected to significant temperature changes and hasn't been exposed to sunlight, it may still be ok. Sniff and texture tests... and try if first on somewhere other than the midfle of your face. If it smells and feels ok, and you don't react it should be good to use. Just bear in mind the effectiveness may not be what it once was.

Decleor always had aroma ingredients and they do go off quicker.

So this morning up before 7 am put on BBC news and caught part of an item. It was about younger just coming into teens using cosmetic products meant for older adults and the problems it can cause on their skin. So showed a young girl who had an allergic skin outbreak showed her dressing table, and what did I spot, a tube of Decleor! If anyone ever used to Decleor it stood out.

Okies, I know you’re all dying to know …
I cracked open the ‘new’ pot of Hydra Floral this morning, and it’s absolutely perfect! Looks & smells fine, goes on like a dream, so I’m saved - for now!
My neighbour used to work for L’Oreal, so she’s going to look in her stash and see if she’s got any to sell. She says there should be no problem as long as it’s unopened and been stored in a cool, dark place.
Meanwhile, I’ve been using the ESPA tri active facial oil I got in my LF advent calendar and I love it, so think I will try their moisturiser next time I need one. Could be some time, as you can tell, I’m not exactly high maintenance! 😁
