I've just asked Alexa to play Donald where's your troosers by Andy Stewart as an homage to Hammy on account of Edinburgh's Hogmanay celebrations being cancelled. I haven't heard it for years. Loved the part where he sang it like Elvis.

Going in to New Year on IW looks like a snooze fest. When Bid TV and Price-Drop were still around you'd have Peter Simon on Bid TV bringing in the new year (before they went down the hard sell route) getting up to mischief and things would be more relaxed.

Going back on the live streams of IW and TJC, as i suspected a snooze fest from IW going in to the new year. It was an advert then it was back in to the products. TJC on the other hand managed to get some crew on screen and do a countdown to say Happy New Year.

I flicked over at 1.15am and Yannis Torchy is saying you might have just come in from a New Year celebration and fancy buying a snakeskin leather bag for £299.99!!!

What the hell makes them think that one single person will go for that?

You have to assume Captain "mattress protector" Knowles also has it by now.

No - Captain mattress protector Knowles is alive and reporting for Shopping Tele duty!
Just wanted to wish everyone a Happy New Year. 2024 has seen me go from Private Knowles in July to Officer Knowles, then Captain Knowles and finally Wing Commander Knowles…
If Shopping TV fails for me in 2025 at least I can hold the record for most promotions in a 6 month period! .

No, Natalia is the Face of Beauty on IW. It looks like TJC have made the decision to keep Opatra and move the lesser known- and possibly American- devices to their ‘sister’ channel. I believe Truth 808 is moving also, as Mark mentioned this on his last show.

That's quite a loss for IW as it was on so much. I wonder what delights they plan to bring to us now

They will have Lunamour as it is leaving TJC, Aviologie, LAB, Beautech and Glow24, so they won’t be short of the odd device or too! I’m not entirely sure that they ever sold more than a handful of Opatra products on IW, no matter how many times it was on. On TJC they always put the stock up.

Opatra was so expensive, what I call a considered purchase. You have to wonder whether many of their audience were interested in the products.
