As a sport lover tomorrow is more like Christmas Day for meWonderful. Desperately sorry to miss him for that
Actually Trevor from the Cotswolds messaged in this morning when I was watchingExpect negative posts on Trustpilot now from Muriel and Trevor from the Cotswolds
Good old TrevActually Trevor from the Cotswolds messaged in this morning when I was watching
Don't worry about family differences, you're one family and that's what matters in this world.Christmas always feels strange in our house, Dads Brown, I’m Mixed, Mums White not sure if that’s why or not.
Pressie wise, A Coat, Mouse for IPad, and a Holiday to Paris, for my 50th In April. Dad said you were made in Paris so is special lol
Coat is from IW, Luckily it fitted,
Being a bad girl now, skipping meds to have a drink,
Freezing hovelDon't worry about family differences, you're one family and that's what matters in this world.
You got some nice presents, I've never been to Paris, that's a lovely present.
I've not started on the booze yet but I will later, I've having a video call later with a relative so I'll get comfy with my IW blanket keeping me warm in my freezing hovel.
Hope your drink relaxes you, and enjoy the rest of the dayx
I may have lied slightly, my little flat is cosy and warm with the central heating (and clean and tidy!)Freezing hovel
You did really well. I'm not sure I would have bothered if it was just me. Hope you enjoyed what sounds like a really lovely meal.Heating off here, 13.5c in the lounge and 17.6c in the kitchen where I have spent what feels like most of the day cooking for just me.
Mind you I did cook half a chicken crown (eaten part of that, rest I will reheat tomorrow), a stuffing ball, pigs in blankets, roast pots, roast parsnips, carrots, brussels and leeks. I forgot the bread sauce until it was too late.
Next job is to microwave half an individual Christmas pud and a few spoons of custard in a ramekin.
Hear hear!Good old Trev
Thought Mase of the Mikons was on tomorrow? Not that I will watch anyway.Pete is back tomorrow for a whole 8 hours
That’s the acid text for the Group Captain. He comes over as sincere as you are allowed to be selling pillows etc. But what will he do when asked to spin the line a watch with a grossly inflated RRP of £1800 is only being sold for £400 on Ideal World because of free advertising savings. Whereas he should be selling along the lines of a decent quality £400 watch being good value for the money - sparing the hysterics and essentially, the lies. I would hope he would choose option two. But equally, that can’t be easy. And with that the viewing ban begins…
Merry Xmas everyone! Thanks for the banter today and the support. Love the photo @OutOut .I like mini Alex, I'd buy it. Merry Christmas, enjoy your pie and peas.
Thanks Alex. So what is Mikes email address.? We would all love to know! Not that we would email him,of course! He has hundreds of emails yet no known email address. He couldn’t be fibbing could he?Merry Xmas everyone! Thanks for the banter today and the support. Love the photo @OutOut .
That was great fun but hard work. I didn’t realise just how much concentration is needed for 4 hours constantly on air and trying to be conscious of new customers coming in, but also regulars that are watching.
You feel like you repeat yourself all the time and people are getting bored of hearing about a bag, or an air freshener etc. it is definitely a skill to be able to do this and I’ll be very happy to going back to the interiors and learning about those products in depth. But if they do need any cover for whatever reason (sickness / last minute etc) I’m happy to step in.
I hope you all had a good Xmas and the suit didn’t offend anyone too much! I got home and the kids wanted me to burn it .
The biggest thing I learnt today is that there are a lot of regular viewers that are on there own and we got lots of texts from people saying they were on there own and watching IW today for company and interaction which did sadden me a little.
But we had fun, that’s the first time I have ‘main presented’ and I enjoyed mentioning the forum, some of your comments and saying hello to you.
I said on air - for me in my view IW is a community because we are a shopping channel so the whole point of a shop is to sell - but there is a community on here, on Facebook, regular viewers and then new people that pop in and out if they are flicking.
It’s been a great experience today, I have learnt a lot and hopefully tried to entertain.
I think mini Alex got more fans than I did however and he made more sense than me at times!
Anyway - merry Xmas, I wanted to share with you my experience of the day as a main presenter as you have been supportive. But it’s tough. I couldn’t do it everyday and I wouldn’t do an item like a watch for example and if they gave me one (I would ask for another product) because if you don’t do your research and know what you are talking about it’s shows immediately.
Fair play to all my friends on every shopping channel, not just IW, that do this job. Because love them or hate them it’s not easy to manage so many things / people chatting in your ear / products changing all the time / new people coming in to buy, text messages etc in your ear.
I hope that also gives a little insight. No more Xmas wrapping suits and back to pillows and blankets for me! Happy Xmas everyone.
We now know, that you never spend the grossly inflated amount listed on the website because no matter what you do they offer a ridiculous percentage off with a code before you reach the checkoutThat’s the acid text for the Group Captain. I just cook for myself at Christmas. I do a roast but not a full Christmas dinner, I don't like sprouts or parsnips so it's just carrots. But I did have pigs in blankets to make it feel Christmassy. And also a glass of wine with it which definitely made it feel special. You did really well. I'm not sure I would have bothered if it was just me. Spent Christmas at partner’s. She has a big friends and family network. Unlike me who has nobody outside of our relationship. Very little TV. Lots of food and alcohol, though. I have spent previous Christmas years alone after my first marriage ended and got by pretty well. Sometimes you crave for your own company. A living in two separate houses relationship offers that option. Ideal for me at this point in life. Hope everybody enjoyed the day. I must admit to being a bit lazy today. I stayed in bed most of the morning but I was awake and watching Alex for a while and on here. I had breakfast in bed which was a treat. I only sorted myself out at 11.30 because I had a video call at 12.00 with family and wanted to look half decent.
Just pottering around now, will sit down and watch Gavin and Stacey at 9pm. Hope you all had a nice day
