A former colleague of mine used to say "you can't argue with stupid". Interesting that they picked on the most vulnerable here and not those of us who couldn't care less if we're named. Following an internal review IW announced today it has replaced its entire TV production crew in an effort to improve broadcasting standards on the channel. They have released a picture of the new team in action, they go on to say.

We would like to welcome Simian Sally, Primate Peter, Monkey Mike and Chuckles Ferrara to IW. We are confident our new team will bring a new level of professionalism to our output, one that befits our high end luxury products. With the new staff in place IW can now boast that the combined IQ of our studio has now risen above 35 (a first for the shopping channel industry).

I was wondering about the cost difference of using central heating vs using a single electric heater, which IW always tell us will be cheaper. Lots of variables obviously. However this article was quite interesting ...

To be balanced about it, the article doesn't say one approach is by far better than the other. Here are a couple of their summary points if you can't be bothered reading the whole thing And I've put some points in bold.

I'm sure all of us on here have our winter things (apart from any central heating) heavier duvets, throws, fleecy PJs and socks to name a few. Primark sells loads of stuff like that very cheaply. I'm aware there are people who struggle to afford heating, but the solution is unlikely to be found on IW.

I love chimps and have adopted one in a monkey sanctuary in Dorset. They would do a better job six days a week and twice on Sunday.

Interesting post, for me better to have the central heating on. Have it set at a nice ambient temperature and it only fires up occasionally to bring the temperature back up. Have it switch off 9.00pm ish, never bother with the up stairs radiators and by bed time the chills been taken off the rooms. Works for me, was miserable fighting to keep just one room warm.

Last night Alex claimed you could turn on an electric blanket he and Pedro were selling, detach the lead, take it on a long car journey and the stored heat would keep you warm. That miracle material ‘CERAMIC’ is everywhere now.
