I thought they might be on older version but they look identical to the ones on John Lewis and the Dyson website??
Eh, I wouldn't get carried away.
Firstly, IW won't have gotten them from Dyson, that's for sure. Best case is they got hold of unopened clearance stock from a retailer, worst case it's a retailer's customer return stock that was offloaded via the same clearance stock merchants they source mos of their "branded" stock from
(and by "branded" I mean real brands, not in-house TJC ones, or pretend-y brands like AYGDH and XIFTE from Temu).
But you're right that Ideal World is selling an old version, the
Zone — but which version?
The IW website
listing title says it's the
Zone Absolute, which is the model with a built-in air purifier.
Yet the
images and the description on the Ideal World website only refer to the standard
Zone model (without the air purifier). Given that the price difference between the two models originally was ~£250 (I think) that changes whether the £399 IW is charging for a pair is a good deal or not – if it's the model
with the purifier, not bad - assuming you care about purifying air as you listen to Bucks Fizz (the 1996 version with Sally Jaxx, right?).
But if IW is charging £399 for the standard
Zone model… not so hot since you can pick those up for around £299 elsewhere… and…
The
Dyson OnTrac is the newest model, and it costs …£399 from John Lewis, Curry's etc. It has a longer battery life, better noise-cancelling, other upgrades, and a much better look than the
Zone (which resembles a cross between a late 1990s public urinal and BT phone box to my eyes).
