That reminds me of the lucky tatties we used to have as kids, they had a tiny plastic toy in the middle of the sweet, of course would be deemed unsafe these days in case you swallowed the toy, so just a sweet now with no toy.

Perhaps they only come with one leg and you have to buy two if you have two legs. I'd better shut up as I don't want us being ripped off more than we are already

Yes, don't give them ideas, they'll be charging for each trouser leg, plus extra if you want a waistband to keep the trousers up (or trying to flog you a tube of glue, to glue the trousers to your legs perhaps?).

I remember the Payne’s Poppets machines on the Underground platforms. Put in your two shillings for your chocolate covered raisins, pull the drawer - nothing. Pull the machine off the wall in retribution and get nicked by the BTP…I was in the BTP…..Not the chocolate machine wall puller offer, by the way..

So it was you who got me 25 years for assault on a chocolate dispenser machine was it?

There was a secret technique to make sure you always got your chocolate - nothing so brutal as ripping the machine off the wall - but I refuse to reveal it, on the grounds that it may incriminate me.

We had to visit tube stations when they were closed as part of our duties. Quite regularly you’d find vending machines and their contents stolen during those hours…

When I was at College the chocolate vending machine, if you put money in their and the goods didn’t come out. Security would gently rock the machine so it dropped down.

I remember the one that you could get tins of pop from used to cost like 80p and that was like 25 years ago
