..or a skunk!Hammy was supposed to have said of Gammon, "One spray and you're away". Of course the same could be said of a cat.
The cost of having a channel on a multiplex is horrendous. Even if the cleaner came on and did a tap dance routine they still have to pay to be on air. Freeview alone you are talking £12million a year if you are broadcasting 24 hours*Paz (whoever they really were) appeared full of ebullience about how the new Ideal World was doing. Then again, if they were actually somebody working for the channel, in the know, they are hardly going to come on and say that things are anything other than doing brilliantly. On now, a fleece for £20. Free delivery, so that cost has to be met, plus Mason’s fee, the studio and gallery staff, the call centre fees, website costs, packing, buying the product and much more I’ve missed, I’m sure. You assume they paid half of what they are selling it for, or less. It all depends on how many they sell. We are never going to do anything other than speculate upon that. A few hundred, a few thousand, 20? Regardless, you fail to see the long-term future for this kind of selling. Focusing now on the over 50s, 60s and 70s and beyond, non-Internet savvie, Wheeltappers humour embracing, customer base who in a couple of decades will be dead and gone. Young people just don’t shop this way and never will do. To survive, this channel and others will need to radically change their selling approach at some point.
I watched a bit of Rob Lamar earlier and the way he did the 'comparison' was to say he likes to look in the shop windows on the way past and be aware of what prices watches are going for if he is going to be selling them, and gave anecdotal prices, though it was not price comparison which I think is a better way to put it than plucking a price out of your arse and saying a garden centre definitely had it for a far more expensive priceYou hope for change but it never comes. These huge company website RRPs on watches they sell for hundreds/thousands less. Why? You just get so sick of ‘the game‘. I suppose they see no reason to change. It was alluded to the other week than shopping telly will never change, despite criticisms levelled towards its tactics, and in certain ways, you can understand that. They are not focusing on an age range where change IS needed. When that demographic no longer exists, the people behind these businesses will regroup and just focus on something else. You essentially need to be daft to be taken in by the patter. Lots of daft people there still to be taken in by it.
Best I’ve seen on Ideal World - any version. Sells honestly and sincerely.I watched a bit of Rob Lamar earlier and the way he did the 'comparison' was to say he likes to look in the shop windows on the way past and be aware of what prices watches are going for if he is going to be selling them, and gave anecdotal prices, though it was not price comparison which I think is a better way to put it than plucking a price out of your arse and saying a garden centre definitely had it for a far more expensive price
If its who i think he at least seems more natural in style rather than trying to brow beat with endless use of adjectives that he cant even spell (aka Pedro). A way more likeable guy.Best I’ve seen on Ideal World - any version. Sells honestly and sincerely.
I think he was on previous incarnation of IW for a short while, but he is an actor. Was in Hollyoaks I think.New presenter who thinks he is called Jeremy Edwards. You have to do extraordinarily badly for me to dislike you as a presenter after 30 seconds, but he has achieved it. Apparently he has been away for seven years having a baby. Looks very much like he’s still pregnant to me.
He was in Hollyoaks and Casualty/Holby City. He sounds nervous being back on selly telly, give him a couple of shifts and he might relax a bit and calm down!! Maybe Peter Simon Is retiring and leaving!!! xxxCrikey!!! That is a blast from the past, Jeremy Edwards, whodda thunk it, didn't see that one coming!! Lolxxx
