They're now selling 2 seater sofas for £600 that aren't even Bonded Leather.

In fact it's unclear what they're made from. There is absolutely no reference to the material on screen or on the website and when asked by Sally what the material was the slimy, slug like Suzy merely described it as 'micro fibre'.

Honestly, no description whatsoever. £600. Contempt?

A cheaper option with the same photo and it is indeed microfibre.

Hayley would fit in well. She talks a load of incomprehensible cobblers

Maybe our plain-speaking Peter Simon could try presenting the Channel 9 way too? Might at least get rid of some of the worst features of his dire routine.

I certainly can't understand how they sell enough from TV sales to make it worthwhile paying a team of presenters. It's the same old, same old products day after day, and they could have filmed each of the about 5 products that they show on loop, and then used the VT's over and over. Even with live presenters its criminally boring showing the same things, and I wonder people haven't switched off in droves. Why don't they get some of the stuff off the website and on the ruddy screen?

They've got some great things on the web, will they come to air? who knows. Must be doing alright by website sales alone, because I doubt many will be watching when the Bid Tv crew are on, which seems to be virtually all the time.

Sally Jaxx/Jacks said earlier about shapewear ''if you are not on the phone or website ordering right now, then you are obviously happy with having backfat''

I consider myself more lenient than others but this gobsmacked me.

How disrespectful and patronising, as well as rude is that, so at anytime she's not wearing shape wear she's obviously happy with her back fat then. Did she ever consider the overweight people who can't afford that shape wear, who are not only unhappy with their "back fat" but suicidal! I hope she gets reprimanded over that comment, but it's highly unlikely so I wouldn't hold my breath! Can't stand her.

admittedly she hesitated before actually saying backfat, but I still couldn't believe what I heard. I would have been more ok with it if she hadn't implied ''buy it or be fat''

That sounds like the producer was telling her to say it, and even she wasn't sure it was a great idea.

I'm no fan of Sally: she shills tat like there's no tomorrow. But she does seem to have a genuine interest in clothes, and gives more reasons to buy stuff normally than "Wear this or be happy being fat"

Most of the time the presenters seem to blithely carry on and ignore the producers.... well it's pretty obvious some of them *cough* Peter Simon *cough* do...

I wonder. I've always suspected that the persona we see isn't the real Pervy Pete, but is cynically crafted to appeal to the old and vulnerable: "Trust me, I'm just like you"

I hope not - surely Nature couldn't make the same mistake twice?

I saw him turn up once as a talking head on one of those 80s tv retrospectives. He seemed more than coherent and insightful.

Of course it's a persona to appeal to a certain demographic. The 'her indoors, my soulmate, Bet' business proves that.

It's much the same with Nan Nanty Nan endlessly talking about his Mam, his Nan and his expired Dad. Certain viewers no doubt think 'ah, isn't he nice boy'.

But equally loads of sophisticated, smart viewers (age irrelevant) can see right through this nonsense. In this case (like most people in our country) they couldn't give a toss about their personal lives and decide for themselves whether an item is worth buying.

Or, more likely, wouldn't dream of buying most of the tatt on screen from these schlocky phonys in the first place :mysmilie_59:

I buy a lot from IW, I like the service and the prices. I like to think of myself as a smart, sophisticated viewer, well I use the term "viewer" lightly as I buy most of my items from their website.

Speaking of which, just having a look on the tv schedule to see what's coming up and seen that on Thursday the 14th at 5pm it says "Bamix Swissline Birthday Special" it's IWs birthday, but was more looking at the "Bamix Swissline" one of QVCs best sellers, have Bamix deflected to IW? Seems so.

They're always swapping brands, like Karcher recently went to QVC.

I've always thought the Bamix looked good but for around £200 they're perhaps overkill for most domestic kitchens.

Definitely agree it's better to use their website! :mysmilie_59:

Dirty Peter is trying to sound all professional, he thanked us for our company 'on this lovely morning on the 8th of March'. He doesn't seem impressed to be on in the morning.

And another old Bid presenter, Geordie Chris, is on with him. Apparently he's now a 'Knife Expert'.:mysmilie_19:

Yes! I thought it was him! Dirty Pete mustn't have realised its actually April, the dozy git.
