Speaking of lies.
Mason - "because I've worked in this industry for so long guys, I probably look for answers where maybe you don't, I already knew how good that product was before I had even seen it in action, and the reason for that is, I've worked in this industry for 20 years right, cause of that name, Beldray. Beldray are not a new kid on the block trying to built a name for themselves, Beldray helped build the block. They've been around for nearly 150 years, that is a reputation, that is a pedigree, that is a heritage, that is a formidable history. They have to be so good to compete with the new kids on the block because it's taken 150 years to build that name, if that product is rubbish it'll take 5 minutes to ruin it, and Beldray are not that stupid. Cause the moment something brilliant, you'll buy their products, you'll buy it again and again, and that's why they've been around for 150 years."
That's sound great Mike, only trouble it's a pack a lies.
The present day Beldray ARE a new kid on the block.
The Beldray of 1872 went out of business in 2004, it wasn't sold/taken over by another company, no it closed down, went defunct, no more. The trade name Beldray by a company in Rochdale (went into voluntary liquidation last year), and they intended use it on a new range of products, but never did, instead they ended up selling part of their business approx 12 years ago and with it the Beldray trade name
The present Beldray has only been on the go for approx 12 years, after acquiring the original Beldray's Trademark, which had already changed hands since the original Beldray closed down. The present day Beldray has absolutely no connection to the old Beldray (apart from using their name) and therefore has no right to claim that company's reputation, history or heritage is theirs.
You could say it's the exact same situation we have with Earnshaw watches, where we have a watch brand pretending/misleading folks into believing they have a connection to the original Earnshaw when it has nothing of the sort.
