This opener is related to the topic at hand, (Shopping Telly), even if it doesn't seem like it. If I watch a film, and it holds my attention, be it an hour or three hours in duration, the time flies by. Not a complaint about the film, obviously, but because I'm so 'into it', it doesn't seem I've been stuck in front of the screen for that long. If it doesn't hold my attention, it 'fades' into the background: if I haven't turned it over already. Sometimes I leave it on to see if it gets better. And here's the ST bit to tie it into the forum. Mr Peter has, as I write 'sold' 3 items, from the rug onwards, and guess what? He 'faded'. The voice has no real interest in it to actually make me look up from the computer. I don't know if it's 'drone' or 'monotone'. And guess what, again. Whether you like the presenters or not, whether you like the goods or not, to sell, you need to keep the prospective customer engrossed, and / or entertained. How can you sell 'stuff' with everyone 'tuning out', if not turning over. They do themselves no favours: as a channel. And that goes for ALL shopping channels, not just IW. (It also helps if they use the proper words for the item. Catatonic again. A favourite word of his, me thinks).

Further to my previous reply, and a bit off-topic. A lot off-topic? Either or. If you like Prokoviev, I recommend his Romeo and Juliet. Excellent. IMO.
Memories of listening to Peter and the Wolf at junior school learning the sounds of different musical instruments . It was also the introduction music for Zoo Quest with Sir David Attenborough. Love Prokofiev’s Romeo and Juliet. Montages and Capulets dance of the knights is the only decent thing about The Apprentice.
