And when he's on TV he's trying to say, look you don't need to be a trained chef to cook a decent meal. If you get Gordon Ramsay to demo something, he can't help becoming too cheffie and that makes people think they can't do it. But if he was asked he could make really good meals at restaurant quality. I think what Mark Young Barlow was doing was saying F*ck it, I'll just half cook this lot and put it in tupperware in the cupboards. How did he cook it and what did he use? That's what viewers want to see. The cooking done right before our eyes. Mark talks a good game but the abilities don't come off on camera
There was one night when Joanne was selling a chopper, and she found some Manky looking veg in one of those cupboards, probably stuff Mark left behind

When Chef Mark (aka young Ken Barlow) was on I always wondered why it was 30 mins here then 45 mins there, never a proper 2 hour show, how could it be worth his time and effort for 45 min stints?

Joe and big Brodders loved getting in about the food and as commented Mike has started eating the food again since Joe has returned, says it all sadly about Marks offernings! I mean a whole jar of ragu sauce over a bit of half cooked chicken was his best offering.......
Mark appeared to be uninterested in being there. In my opinion, he prefers to cook on a stovetop or oven instead of using an air fryer. Although he claimed to use air fryers in his home, I couldn't find any evidence of it in the food he served.

Since getting a smart meter I did compare air fryer to oven and difference is massive !
I don't have a smart meter, but I just find it easier and quicker to use an air fryer. I don't have loads of kitchen gadgets but my air fryer and George Foreman grill get used a lot. Or 'George Formby' grill as my dad used to call them🤭

Do you ever post something, and later think why.

I posted about how I become disabled earlier, and felt miserable since
Yes I do that often
Ive thought about giving chapter and verse about my my own health issues on here twould only be a twenty year tale so quit short.
Then I think about who views it but then I’m a tad older than you so I’ve been there done that got the tee shirt.
I actually think it’s sad we have to think before we post.
I’m always an easy target because of my dyslexia.
Health wise I’m loath to discuss it because I would sound like a moaning mini.
Ive had health issues but recovered, they are not and have not been since I was an adult life threatening, There are things I can no longer do i used to love doing.
I can only speak personally but from a purely selfish point of veiw reading about others health issues makes me take a reality check and realise how lucky I am.
I have similar problems to doc but mine are all upper body. I can walk for miles just can’t paint a ceiling or carry more than a feather for too long a distance.
Please don’t EVER regret anything you have shared here.

On my smart meter monitor, I am using between 1 and 3 pence per hour. This figure shoots up to 88p while the kettle boils, then drops down to between 1 and 3p again. When I turn on my cooker, hobs, or hobs and oven, the indicator on the monitor shoots up again. Once it reaches the right temperature, it drops back to between 1and 3p once more. Cooking Jacket Potatoes was the only real difference I noticed and it was 14p more using the oven.

Thanks, that's really informative. I know kettles use a lot of energy, which is why we're advised not to use more water than we need.

I think what it means is, when I boil the kettle and it shoots up to 88p. It would cost me 88p if the kettle was on constant boil for 1 hour, but it only boils for around 3 minutes, and then drops back to the day in day out hourly running cost of between 1p - 3p per hour.for me.

One of the main selling features of an air fryer is it takes less time to cook. So his reasoning of half cooking things to save time made no sense. He may as well have ordered a take away

I got a Morphy Richards slow cooker for half price in Menary's a local department store and when I got back from a few days stay in hospital a couple of weeks ago my dad had left an air fryer there for me so proper bargains. The slow cooker is so good but I love roast veg and the air fryer does a lovely job of them
