I'm one of Peter's & Ideal World's favourite texters, i'm looking forward to see what mysterious products i'll be purchasing from them in 2024. :ROFLMAO:

Happy & Prosperous New Year everyone. 🥳

Thought i would paste a New Year message with some of my recent purchases from IW.

Old Simon's off again claiming to have been in the tv business for 60+ years :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO: according to his Wiki hes only 62, and he has worked with nearly everybody.
Hammy has also texted in about the alexander brothers duo who he has also worked with in Ayr.

He asked about the hogmanay show on STV as well and if i will be watching, which is a big fat no, why the hell would i be watching Lorraine Kelly let alone STV. Think the last Hogmanay show i watch was in the days of Grampian TV before STV took it over. Really have no interest in anything STV do.

Also really not into the Alexander Brothers, remember when i was a kid it was more Andy Stewart and Calum Kennedy that would be playing on hogmanay.

From new to year, from day to month, from week to month, from hour to day, right.......forgive me.....Martin is in......curry sauce.......just av a buy, I'd.......right.......ok right.......shower.........from 2021 to 22 from 22 to 2023......Id like to wish all posters on the forum a healthy, safe and peaceful 2028  (all seriousness best wishes and best health for 2024 folks, take care) (y)

They did an interesting experiment with time today on Radio 4.

They had someone out in the street listening to Big Ben chime, and also listening to an FM radio at the same time, and the radio chime came slightly before they heard it "live" in the street.

But this will not work with DAB radio, nor streaming radio (which could be minutes behind).

So if you want to set you watch very accurately, listen to the pips on FM radio,

There’s a good website called TimeIs as well, if anyone prefers to use the web. That’s linked to the atomic clock - I generally use it to set customers watches before I return them.

Happy New Year to everyone here.
Its a family more than a forum, I think.

I've been looking at that site, but I can't figure out how the time can be accurate when it gets to us.

Surely it will depend on the speed of the internet connection, and whether the PC is wired up to the router or uses wi-fi, and the decoding time in the router, and even the speed of the PC????

I fooled my OH once as she was streaming a quiz over the internet, and I was listening on a radio. I heard the answer to every question before she had even heard the question (I could hear both but she couldn't) so as soon as the Q was asked on her device, I shouted out the answer (I was in a different room). She was most impressed until I admitted what I was doing.

I'm thinking he's telling a few porkies again, along with he's worked with Mike Reid at the Lakeside probably sweeping up after him and I've been selling watches on tv for well past 30 years :ROFLMAO:.
He can't decide whether he was a celeb (working with Mike Reid and Larry Grayson) or working on shopping telly for 30 years selling watches.
