Decent sale the Duchamps always go fairly well when they are on

The Earnshaws don't look any better than the Gamages really and they have that space sewn up

Only seen pics of or the watches on TV, but would give the Earnshaw the nod for slightly better case/dial finishing, especially when they've gold/rose/gold/black finishing, something really cheap looking about the coating on Gamages/Swan & Edgar watches. Other than that they seem to use the similar quality movements so not much between them.
Earnshaw, especially with their mechanical movements tend to focus mostly on Skeleton dials, whereas Gamages concentrate on full dials with lots of day/date/month/moonphase complications, so could in theory appeal to different customers.

I would love to meet someone with one of these solar time watches and ask them about it. I sincerely hope they don't reply with the faux history etc thinking they have a valuable piece. Would you tell them the truth 🤔

Yeah I would.

It's a shame Solar Time have gone down this route of promotion/marketing of their watches, with ridiculous RRPs, a deliberate policy to hide who is behind the brands (using fake or a defunct brands history & heritage) and where they are manufactured, over egging the quality etc, as they do have some decent affordable watches, ie, some of the AVI-8 and Spinnaker watches are ok, at the right price.

Agreed, which is why I almost went for a S&E multi-dial pilot-style for £99 on IW many ages ago, before the veils were lifted!

Despite myself, I do like the Earnshaw 'brand' itself; I'd consider launching my own brand of 'Harrison' watches - John Harrison was the winner of the marine chronometer navigation Trinity House competition and won their prize for marine navigation requirements, the original inventor of the marine chronometer, I believe, and was the subject of the film Longitude, with Harrison played by the inimitable Michael Gambon (himself a trained engineer before acting). Earnshaw perfected it later and made it production-capable.

But the Earnshaw watches are too 'flowery & curly' for my tastes and not a big 'skeleton' fan either. Also don't like the way they copied the E/B back to back and E on the second hand rear end, like Bugatti or Breitling or Bulgari!

Regularly breaking down she tells her fans

Still not a peep for any of those "fans" who may be in considerable financial difficulty at least short term (not on what looks a lovely expensive holiday) but there we go

Ryan sharing his good news of a slot on crafting TV today to his simpering followers on FB. Great for him of course. Hope his behind the scenes colleagues have been as fortunate as quickly.
