QVCs shocking postage service

I once ordered items from Lush and when I returned home from work one night at around 10pm there was a card pushed through my letterbox saying parcel had been left at the side of the house. It had rained all day, it was late at night so pitch black and when I picked up the box the bottom fell out of it because it was soaked and I was chasing bath melts etc down the drive.
I rang Lush the following day and they were most apologetic, said they`d resend the order plus a few freebies and told me to keep anything I could from the original order. Luckily most items in the order had been bagged individually so apart from being a bit crushed most of them were usable.
On Monday night I ordered my youngest son`s Christmas presents from a website in Germany. He has a hobby called War Hammer and this German website sells the special cases etc for his stuff. The items will be sent by DHL tracked and it cost me the grand total of 9 Euros. I ordered around 11pm last night and they were dispatched this morning. QVC live in the dark ages but will continue to do so.

Excellent customer service. The sort which encourages repeat business. QVC would have been collecting the sodden remains (irrespective of whether or not they were in a resaleable condition) and hanging onto your money whilst they painfully slowly processed a refund / exchange.

and they dont even care a jot

The only way they will ever take notice is if people stop buying. That was part of my reason for not getting the L'Occitane TSV. I didn't want to send the message to QVC that I was happy with the configuration or p&p. Had I got it, I'm sure I would have enjoyed using it all, but - unless I'm blown away by an item - I'd rather give another retailer my business.

I did a bit of shopping over the weekend, mostly for Christmas, made some good savings, got free delivery on everything, and it was all with me by Tuesday. Couldn't believe QVC had the cheek to email me saying that it wasn't too late to take advantage of their Black Friday deals, what Black Friday deals?!

I don't have the same postman or woman every day , or same delivery time. Though they seemed to be regular to days of the week but that seems to have changed again.

Nor do I. They seem to change on a regular basis but the word must have spread because, if I'm out, they all leave the parcels in the safe place. It's either that or they use their initiative, thank goodness.

Funny I had one I did not recognise yesterday.

Well I have had at least 2 new postmen to me this week and a couple of days with no deliveries when I was expecting things.
Then today on returning form walking the dog a white van was driving away from out drive and my other half said is that Amazon driver I am expecting a delivery. Sure enough normal would be left with a neighbour, or behind bins or gate, no the card said in black bin! Said black bin is not only the general rubbish, it also had rubbish in about a quarter full.

I purchased several things over last weekend. Unusually Q was the quickest BUT I had paid through the nose, it was a very small package and had gone through the letter box.

The others I got free delivery and wasn't in any rush so was more than happy to save a fortune by waiting an extra day or so.

Once Q stop the 30mdg and EP's they are dead in the water.

It is about time that companies not giving a service we find acceptable are named & shamed.I read Which & more often than not go with their recommendations. I have had great service this week from Lakeland & John lewis with not a penny in postage.Liz Earle is another favourite.I haven't been intrested in QVC for months.

I at least once a year order Birkenstock's from the German site and they always send trackable and arrives within days. Delivered this end by UPS.

I had a real disappointment with a Radley bag I ordered on Black Friday which did have a very good discount - originally £160 reduced to £90. I got an email yesterday to say it has been lost by the courier. Of course the bag is now on waitlist and expected to be in stock within 90 days but this is no good for me as it was intended as a Christmas present. That's what happens when QVC use cheap couriers. I do a lot of online shopping from many different stores (Liz Earle, M & S, John Lewis, Debenhams, Feel Unique, Amazon, All Beauty etc) and I rarely have problems. But with QVC I do experience a disproportionate number of issues and of course the slowness.

On the Q website today. a lot of the product have underneath the 'Delivered for Christmas'. Given that it is 3 weeks away I should ****** well hope so, mind you, knowing how bad the delivery service can be including lost products I think they may be just a little over confident.

I got an email from Next today saying that if they promise something will arrive for Christmas and it doesn't then you get it free.

you wont be getting that e mail from qvc they would be bancrupt within a week

I was just going to say, boffy, if QVC made this promise, I might lift my self-imposed ban on buying from Q (since Amexgate) and spend a couple of grand with them, in the expectation of getting several hundred pounds' worth of free goods!

Yes I got that too, tempting to try it at the last minute before Christmas on an expensive item :mysmilie_17:

Yes, good retailers can make this promise because they know their loses will be minimal. QVC say that you can shop up till the 21st of December (yeah right, this from a company who can't provide next day delivery :mysmilie_15:) and they'll "aim" to get it to you in time for Christmas. In reality they wont care that they'll let a lot of people down because they simply won't/can't deliver and it's only the rare few people who Facebook on QVC that'll bring it to others attention so why should they care, plus there's two groups who wouldn't care, that's QVC themselves because they've already got your money so their Christmas will be ok, and the lucky people who've got their order so their Christmas will be ok.

On Wednesday night I ordered some items from very small specialist book retailer. I got an email saying they had been despatched, they came this morning. 4 different items £3.95 postage.

i suspect they sold out before you ordered but the order was still generated and went through. no loss to qvc as they already have your money. now they will do the wait for a declaration form to arrive in the post. return it and wait for a refund which will take anather two/three weeks. remember qvc till have all that money

I had a similar thing happen with a pair of Skechers shoes. QVC phoned early this morning (Sunday!) to tell me that the courier had received an empty packet instead of shoes. It wasn't explained if that was an error in QVC's warehouse, the item fell out of a badly sealed bag or if the courier had nicked it. Let's face it, given problems in the past, any one of these scenarios is possible. The lady on the phone was polite and friendly but, in the end, all she could do was offer to place another order, for which I'd have to wait another week or so. No hint of getting it done quickly for the sake of the customer. Oh no, QVC wouldn't want to spend a bit extra for goodwill would they? In the end, it's their loss as I've cancelled the order. I notice it still goes down on my account as a return though. They won't assume responsibility for anything will they? Similar things have happened with other companies in the past - it happens - but they all have bent over backwards to make sure the missing item was replaced as quickly as possible. QVC is the only place that really doesn't give a damn.

I'm not sure this is the right place to ask since some have less than favourable experiences with our local couriers, but do any of you give a "Christmas tip/drink" to your Hermes courier? I know we already pay through the nose in P&P for what we get from QVC but that's not the couriers' fault and they see only a small fraction of that. I like my courier and would like to pop a few quid in a card for him. Do you suppose most people give their couriers (and RM postman) a tip at this time of year? Do you? What would be considered fair?
