Being a fan of both for shopping I have realised that ASOS has the edge, and Im sure it won't be too long before ASOS TV.

Now there are pluses and minuses in both sides, but ASOS wins.
Why?
Although QVC Has a much wider range, it constantly fails on fashion, targeting the middle-age-woman 'Style', who seem to be the backbone of the QVC customer database.. completely ignoring fashion for the 12 - 30 ages. (ok maybe kipling bags would pass)
However ASOS are amazing regarding
  • free delivery choice
  • free returns
both of the above are fast, especially refund of returned item - in some cases they have refunded my m/c 2 days after returning also...
  • a much wider fashion/shoe/accessory choice
  • 'decent' not 'laughable' reductions on clearance/sale items

Ive been with ASOS since its online birth (when it was called 'As Seen On Stars' and was created to deliver a small range of designer copies of the items 'a' listers were seen wearing). It has gone from strength to strength with huge profits. Its no wonder.

QVC MUST start offering free returns, I realize free delivery on all items will never ever happen (maybe on a par with Basso leaving)
If there was an ASOS tv channel, and they continued with free delivery/returns option, would you buy from them?

ASOS who I have bought from(Emus in their sale ages ago), they are really aimed at the twenty something and their normal customer base fashion and makeup. High street brands etc. Not the same as QVC customer base.

ASOS means As Seen On Stars, like Cheryl, TOWIE etc only cheaper.

You really can't compare the two. One is an online fashion store, one is a shopping channel. I daresay John Lewis / Selfridges is better than QVC as well!

I thought ASOS used to stand for As Seen On Screen? Either way, that was about six years ago when they used to specialise in selling clothes seen on celebs (and, quite often, cheap and nasty replicas). They have moved away from that, towards high street and high end/designer brands.

I believe it does stand for "As seen on stars", and from what I've seen, (a mate of mine has quite a few bits) you're right about the cheap n' nasty replicas...tbh, you'd be better off saving your money and going to Primark! Doesn't compare with QVC, as one's a department store, but I could see an "Asos"channel doing well.

I thought it stood for that too! Oh well. And, yes, they certainly have come on a pace. I bought a replica pair of earrings right at the start. The earrings are still ok, but ASOS are now producing much higher quality items. I think they began with replicas and some items that actually were the same as those worn on tv shows like Sex & the City and the like.

fast delivery, quality branded goods, lots of choice, normally free delivery, quick refunds, excellent prices..i am too bored to go on lol!

They used to advertise in NOW full page ads and it was As Seen On Stars. This was about 4 or 5 years ago, so must have changed over the years.

I get emails from them for the sales etc.
