Blimey doesn't time fly when you're enjoying yourself Burlz!? We can all come out the closet now :bandit: cos it's almost acceptable to say you watch it now.:mysmilie_857:

Is it 19 years?

Craig Rowe just said it was. Is that right?

I think it'll be 19 years on 1st October. They launched on my 18th birthday in 1993. (I didn't discover QVC until 2004 but still, the miserable so and so's have never once sent me a card or pressie to share our joint celebration  )

I wasn't watching 19 years ago. It's probably about 9 or 10 years. I dabbled with SHOP! for a bit until the ill fated On-Digital went down the pan, then i got SKY and BOOM! Addicted to QVC. Life changing!:taphead:

I remember when French and Saunders did their skit on QVC - my Mum and I were watching it and just didn't get the reference at all, we had no idea television shopping existed! Oh for those days of ignorance :giggle:

I've been watching it for **gulp** 15 years. Well consistently anyway. I occasionally watched in the very beginning, but snickered loftily at those who watched avidly and, heaven forbid, actually purchased!! How the mighty fall!

Oh c'mon you lot - especially JR fans - she is constantly telling us how she is the longest presenter and how many years she and it have been on air. Were you asleep Burlz when she says all this ?

Yep, watched it on the first day. Julia Roberts and a man named I think John Benson (does a lot of voice over work) were the presenters along with Paul Lavers, Suzanne Evetts, Steve Whatley, Kara Tritton. Might have been others. Can't remember if Julian was one of the originals. Debbie Flint joined a little later.

I don't know how many years I've been watching, but it certainly wasn't from the start. With two children in 1993 (youngest 2 1/2) I was too busy colouring pictures, making play-doh shapes, reading stories, going for walks with bike/ trike / doll's pushchair in tow, 'let's play tidy up' (that one never really took off), playgroup etc. When the TV was on it was for Postman Pat, Pingu & the like.
YET, it seems like I've been watching forever!

i love her, but i dont hang on to her every word!

last time i remember it being mentioned it was 14 years!

I watched the very first show presented by Julia and John Briggs, but it was quite a while before I actually ordered. My very first order was from Decleor when it was presented by Carolyn Taylor who is now a managing director or something for decleor/ shiseido. She was the regular Decleor guest and was on with AY who looked and acted very professional in those days.

Those were QVC years, where everything runs faster, such as people jumping to the phones, PC's "firing up" in seconds, 90% of the stock gone in 5 minutes, delivery in 5 working days - - - OOOPS

It must have been mid-nineties when I started watching, as that is when I got cable. Seem to recall rather less beauty & bedding and more jewellery and household items. Soon got hooked on watching Steve Whatley, and of course my lovely Julia  Yes, it was Carolyn that did Decleor, Bonnie (I think) did Elemis and a statuesque blonde did Gatineau.
