Do tell. I'm so nosey lol. I've only done one cruise and it was MSC (cheap lol). The Italians and Chinese were pretty rude but we met some lovely people and it was my first visit to Mykonos which I loved. Have a great time.

The Canary Islands, details in previous post. I think these ones are aimed at British people so not sure about other nationalities. I know that they look after people on their own, they have get togethers where you can meet other solo travellers. Basically I've not travelled widely and the way to see a few places is to do a cruise. My confidence is gaining as I get older and I want to do more things. I've watched the Jane McDonald and Susan Calman cruise programmes on C5 and people do seem very friendly. If I like this one (I'm sure I will!) then who knows where I will end up next! Glad you enjoyed your cruise.

Silver Fox, do the holiday. I'm going on my first cruise later this year, I'm on my own so its a bit more expensive than as a couple. I'm in my late 50s so still working and it's all paid off. It's totally out of my comfort zone as I haven't done much on my own but I'm going for it. I have a chronic health condition that's under control now but could get bad in the future and affect my mobility. All I need to do is decide is what sunbed to pick on deck! Go for it, you won't regret it.

You will enjoy your cruise, don’t worry about going as a single, you will meet people in a similar situation and if you are the sort of person who likes to chat you will soon make new friends.I go on escorted tours and always get on with other travellers.Once you have done it the world is your oyster and it gives you a confidence if you want to, you can! I am probably booking my trip tomorrow (Japan).

Marella Explorer and its around the Canary Islands in November. I've been to Tenerife on holiday so it felt a bit familiar sailing from there. Really looking forward to it.

Have a great time. We went on Thomson Dream to the Fjords a few years ago and we had a great time. Staff and food were great. Our cabin stewards were lovely girls both were Polish I think and they hugged us goodbye.

From what I've seen I won't go hungry or thirsty

The only cruise I went on (Fred Olsen) you could have as much as you can eat 3 times a day (up to 5 courses), and tea and cakes to keep you going in between!

I also found you could always have an omelette, even if not on the menu, if you wanted a lighter meal.

And they also had a fish and chip bar you could go to, with burgers etc, all free of course.

Yes we were on Bolette in May and the Fish and Chips in the covered pool area were delicious. We thought the food in the Buffet was better than the Main Driving Room.
