I like the teccy lady on IW, she seems to know what she's talking about & although I turn over when they gush on about a Karcher washer for an hour I can watch her she's talking technology. Think Q ought to poach her.

There is nothing to say whether it has motion sensors eg for steering a car in a race game, or any sort of GPS.

I've been on the Prestigio website, that gives no more info than QVC.

I cannot find any phone number to contact them, only an on-line email form (I hate these, why can't they use ordinary emails so you don't have to fill in all the personal info they want???)

There is no GPS, but I presume the OTG USB means you could plug in a dongle. Also, the Prestigio website shows that it has a g-sensor for screen rotation and a 3D accelerometer. I guess that can be used for games and so on?

hope that helps :)

Janice is great! QVC really need a full-time tech presenter like her.

I succumbed at the last minute, then found it was on waitlist for 10th December, so I have missed 10 days of playing with it.

On the other hand, if I find something better in the meantime, I can cancel it before the money is taken.

It has most of my requirements (USB & HDMI connections and extendible memory).

They are also supplying the HDMI cable, USB OTG (on the go) cable, earphones and an 8GB card.

I looked at a 7inch screen in Tesco and thought it was a bit too small. On the other hand, the 10inch screens are a bit bulky to hold. So I am hoping the 8inch will be a good compromise, after all, an extra inch can make a big difference!

Not sure about the free subscriptions, but if I have to sign up to a paid subscription to get them (even if I can then cancel it in 3 months) I will be sending it back at their expense for a full refund, as such conditions were not mentioned anywhere.

I am not saying you have to do this, but for so many "free" offers you do have to, in the hope that you will forget to cancel when the time comes.

PS. I WILL HAVE TO CHECK CAREFULLY THAT THEY DO NOT SEND ME A RETURN.

I think you should be safe strato, with the advanced order. I don't think 10 days would be quick enough for QVC to deliver - is it 3 to 5 days? - and then for the buyer to try out, return and QVC turnaround to send out again by 10th December. Plus, is it coming direct from the seller, if so, those deliveries tend to take a bit longer to arrive. .....................then again, I could be wrong.

Some bad reports on facebook, bbc i player does not work, and the magazines are all American ones with no UK content lol , so very very sneaky, bimbo didn't mention that did she !

Amen to that. I must be one of the only under 50s who just can't get into technology. I have a computer and smartphone and that's it. I watched the TSV presentation hoping to learn something. She lost me when she started talking about a dongle. lol

I'm 26 and when my eldest son was 3, he had to show me how to use the DVD player!! Lol.

I've just had a look on FB, the £50 of free magazine subscriptions turn out to be AMERICAN so useless if you want to read gossip mags about UK people, or order anything from lifestyle mags.

I recorded some of the presentations, this was not mentioned at all. The subs were one of the reasons I went for it, I was looking forward to sampling lots of different mags (90 I think they said).

Now I am thinking about cancelling, but waiting until some reviews appear on Q.

This was totally dishonest, another job for trading standards IMO. How do they get away with it?

Following on from this, there are now 16 comments on FB, but FB won't let me read them. Every time I get down to the topic and click on "See all comments" or "see more" I get zapped back to the top. It then takes several minutes to get back to the posts, then it happens again!

If anyone is able to read them, could they please copy and paste on here, thanks.

Its going to be rubbish. I love my nexus 7. Its got GPS too. Only criticism is that I have to charge it every evening.
I loaded BBC iPlayer by following some instructions online. Loaded flash too. so far I'm getting all the latest jellybean software updates.
no HDMI but I have other devices that link to TV and I never use them. I bought a 1.49 mini USB to USB cable so can use my flash USB drives to stream videl and music. Can't use the mini USB for hard disk as mini USB has no power

Did any one buy the Prestigio tablet TSV? got mine today....easy to set up although when I tried to get BBCiplayer it said it wasn't available in this country!! and the free emagazines worth £50.00 turn out to american magazines useless if you get the gossip magazines full of celebrities 'famous' in the states but not here...or my fave home interiors if I see anything I'd like to buy I can't because the shops are in the US.......

William Watson I along with others made various comments about these Prestigo deals this is the fourth change this year-as I said before I bought first one & because of the demo hype and had to return within days - in high tech. Thanks for this. The last 2 posts are "see more" so can't read all of them.

Not looking good so far.

One good and one bad review on QVC so far.

Not a full review by any means, but mine arrived yesterday afternoon and I've been playing with it pretty much every minute since! I love it. I've had no problems with it running, it's responsive and fast, and does everything I've asked of it so far. Lack of BBC iPlayer isn't the fault of the tablet. Adobe decided to stop developing the Flash platform for Android to concentrate on its own AIR system. Hopefully the BBC will release a new app that works sometime soon. Also, the Jellybean update took ages to download, but, again, that's not the tablet to blame. Construction quality is good, it feels solid and doesn't flex or creak in use. The slip case is a bit cheap and cheerful, but it's a useful addition seeing as most tablets at this price come with nothing.

And if you don't want American mags, fine, just ditch the leaflet. QVC's price for this is still cheaper than most places even without all the added value.

I think the "poor" review on QVC is misrepresentative too. Any device with tiny little speakers is going to sound tinny. You don't buy a tablet to get hifi quality sound from the internal speakers.

Forum will not let me edit!

I may be wrong, but I think I heard that iplayer and flash would work on Android ICS but not Jelly Bean. I will try and check this, and it true, I will avoid updating mine if that is possible.

not nececelery.......the speakers on my lappie are the brilliant. i assume the reviewer means not good even for a tablet?

My nexus 7 with jellybean (I think 4.2) has the bbciplayer working on it fine. The new jellybean patch for the missing December month uploaded last week
