This is something I touched upon days ago, having said that my brother was (and still is to some extent) on tv, he had contractual obligations for a show he appeared in regularly both live and pre-recorded which included not disclosing certain information when he left (in some cases it can bring the company into disrepute) . in general, my brother couldnt comment on the reasons why he ceased to be in the show. But the company could comment if they had wanted, but chose not to. He had fans who were very annoyed at all this, but at the end of the day he was employed to do a job, had a contract, the job finished. end of.
As I said before it is annoying when channels expect u not to notice if ur favourite suddenly vanishes, but its upto them.
In all honesty I think my brothers case, he was less upset than the 'fans' were about his job ending. He now has his own company in the area of expertise he was doing on the show that made him famous,,and does very well from the start he had on tv.

I think you'll find this is not the case. Employers are bound by more legislation than employees.

I know all about employer legislation. it is my job. NOT to mention personal details but of the fact that they are making redundancies. In many cases they need to announce it in order to claim and employees to aquire assistance in finding future work. .. and for shareholders. (too boring to go into )

I'm sorry but your first paragraph is total gibberish. Not only does it not make sense, it's incorrect on so many levels!
Do you have any idea what Data Protection is? Employers are bound by this and are NOT allowed to give out personal information. The Employer is bound by not only legislation but the fear of being sued - none of which will be written down.
Please please please please please do not challenge me on employment law because you're honestly backing the wrong horse if you do. It is my area of expertise and I've been practising in my field for over 20 years and haven't lost a Tribunal or County Court case yet.

either u have misunderstood or misread my post.
there are and will be hundreds of companies which will state toi the press they will be making redundancies. This doesnt include them having the right to say who, which is what i said above.

Yes, everything ive written makes sense to me, and if it didnt make sense to you then u should have asked me to clarify instead of instant damnation.
I am actually agreeing with ost of what you have written on this topic previously, that the said employees have a right not to be named. ..but if u cannot understand that so be it. I also think that there is something to be said not to treat viewers like idiots and that we wont notice sumbody suddenly vansih from the screens.
I CANNOT be bothered if u ignore or not, i know even if they dont say it thast many will agree with my post.
But anything I do write gets slammed by you anyway, so il be glad not to be in fear of that now ur ignoring me.. phew!.

Really sad news to read that Rod and Drew have been made redundant; I would just like to say thank you, to them both. Drew always managed to make me chuckle, especially with his singing outbursts, and his humour, and his chit chat about ones of his relatives in Kessingland! You will both be sorely missed, its a sad shame that it was you two who had to go! xxxx :sad:

Don't worry Suzy I have read this post over and agree with what you are saying. I think a certain person on this forum is getting far to big for her boots and should shop with this 'I rule the shopping telly forum' attitude!
