I've bought several items recently which only had £2-95 PP and they weren't small or light either.

Personally I think that is reasonable and doesn't put me off. £3-95 is a bit iffy for me, and £4-95 is a no-no.

Have others noticed the more reasonable PP, and what PP would put you off?

BTW as usual, there is no rhyme or reason for the different PP on different items.

I bought a food chopper thing today and was a bit annoyed that the reduced price (down to £9.29) was made less sweet by the £3.95 P&P on top!

I think any amount of p&p will put me off if it's per item. If I intend to buy one item only then £3.99 would be my absolute limit just for the convenience of having it delivered.

Postage matters a lot. I have been put off a lot of stuff on Q because of the P & P. There are such a lot of retailers online where postage is free, or free if you spend £25 or £30 or whatever. It encourages me to buy. I have bought most of my presents this year from Boots and Look fantastic and have paid not a penny in postage.
