There are mixed reviews on the web site for this. What do forumites think, is it worth trying. Have been using OPI for years but need more help. Demo shows a nice shiny finish but I do a lot of DIY and gardening :muscle: is it durable. :bear::mysmilie_508:

its funny i am using opi nail envy with not much results now for a couple of months. i dont fancy spending a small fortune on yet anather wonder product!

was also wondering what this one is like as OPI is not doing much for me at the moment

Trind, Trind, Trind.

It really does work. QVC no longer sell it but justbeautydirect have collections on sale at the moment. Now you remove it every day for two weeks, but it really makes your nails hard and strong.

No brand will last gardening or DIY all will peel at the tip.

I have had good sucess with Trind but not found it easy to always obtain.

I have since used Nailtiques which I have great sucess, most nail treatments don't last a long heavy session with the Ciff cleaner whilst I have found this does.

Try it, try it, try it! I'm on my second bottle :)

I've been using oodles of Nail Envy, ProStrong and others but they didn't do anything, and, if anything, seemed to make my nails weaker. I used to love Nail eat and Nail drink as it was then the only thing that worked, it just vanished from the market, but this Gel coat is equally as good. Your nails might look a slightly mauvy colour when you first use it, but it does settle in and should give you a natural french manicure look. You can use one or two coats, but I find one is enough and I can put my usual nail colours over it with no problems. You usually need to remove it once a week but sometimes I stretch it longer with no ill effects. I'm not in the best of health but it's stopped my nails flaking and they now are strong and flexible and resilient. I can't say if they'll be up to gardening and DIY as I have no garden and don't know what to do with a hammer, but I find this is the best out there right now. It's all subjective but I'd urge you to give it a try. You could always send it back if not :) I also use the Leighton Denny crystal nail file which also helps stop the ends splitting apart.

If you do try it, let us know how you get on :)

I've just received the Perfect Formula moisturiser from the same range, which I'm using along with the Milagro Nail Care System - the latter is working to a degree, but I still need a little help with hydration as my nails still ping off if I catch one. My nails must be the worst in the world, I have never ever had a decent set of nails, but the Milagro has been about the best thing I've tried (thanks to Clemenzina if you're reading!). I've tried most things, including everything that QVC has to offer..none of it has done much good - things I paint on usually make my nails peel, including Nail Envy, Pro-Strong, Trind, Sally Hansen - of course some things suit and some things don't, we aren't all the same, but I would recommend the Milagro - my nails do now at least have a free edge, and it looks white as opposed to opaque grey, so they are getting stronger I think - I know it takes a long time to grow a whole new nail so am persevering!

Note to Moth's mum - Google Nail Eat & Drink...it's still available, can't remember off the top of my head where I saw it, but it is out there.

Thank you everybody for your fab comments, I am not alone then!

I found the LD crystal nail file wrecked my nails and gave them to my mum who loves them, I must be the only person they have done that to because they get loads of awards!

I have a lot of thinking to do now with your great recommendations, I do wear gloves for all my manual work but they still suffer and work involves some manual stuff as well as sitting talking! I know I'll never have nails like Barbra Streisand but I am on the road now to my version of killer talons. :mysmilie_378::mysmilie_504:

I spoke too soon...when I got back from Tesco this afternoon I found I'd lost half of my best nail  !!

I have tried both the Perfect Formula pink gel and the Perfect Formula clear gel and they both work exactly the same. The clear one is £5 cheaper than the pink and I prefer it as I think the pink is a bit of a strange purpley/ultraviolet colour and it definitely doesn't look like you are wearing gel nails!

Nothing else has worked for my nails and when using this they grow faster and stronger and stop peeling. Still can't stop them from splitting low down though, but there again I am abusing them at the moment (decorating!)

My nails split right down the edges too. Nail envy didn't work for me :(

I have this prob. too, especially with my thumb nails. Nail Envy has never helped this problem in any way. I had one peeling nail that just had to grow out, it took a year :mysmilie_13: of keeping it as short as I could bear, even then I could see the layers.
I think the worst stuff on the market is Sally Hansen, far too harsh. Just shows how studio lights affect items, the Perfect Formula certainly looks pink during the demo's. Busy Mum, I've lost many a nail plonking the shopping basket back on top of the pile. :headbang:
