Dear Lord, how bad is Kathy T?

Up until this week I was working full time so never was in a position to watch her in the morning. Having my first post semi retirement coffee turned Q on and already I want to shake her. I had read here complaints about her but never realised just how bad she is.

From calling the BA Imogen COLLAGEN to getting numbers/colours/prices wrong, mumbling and worst of all talking over everyone.

JudgeJudy or Homes under the Hammer tomorrow me thinks.

Kathy seem such a nice person, but definitely not in the right job. I agree with above post in saying she is getting worse.

Oh dear Kathy! Just seen her blog, just back from another holiday to celebrate her 30th wedding anniversary which she says is her Ruby! Everybody now commenting and telling her it's Pearl not Ruby. She does generally seem confused.

That was quick! She obviously reads the comments because she has now corrected it to Pearl!

If they do read it is very very selective otherwise they would take heed of all other complaints.

If you overheard customers/clients at your work saying something poor about your WORK would you not have a long hard think and see if it was true? Same thing.

I don't know off screen, but I've heard her be very rude and curt to people on screen and apparently Social Media. I read once that she was very rude to somone asking a question about her "fashion" hour. She reminds me of a school headmistress who'd slap you soon as look at you. They also say with time comes experience, well who ever said that clearly hadn't watched KT on QVC.

She used to be praised for being so normal on the Q Facebook, now its complaining about her talking over people being rude etc.

After all these years at QVC she stills mumbles and stumbles over her words.

I think I heard her back to the he ruby anniversary in the 12 o'clock show so the memory of a goldfish then.

Also heard for the first time that this fiver for first timers does not apply to items on easy pay. I'll bet that came as a gone to many, surprised didn't see it mentioned on arsebook.

Sometimes she's good for a laugh though. Once I was watching her, back in the days of ITV morning TV, years ago when she introduced the then very popular music group as "F*cks Bizz"! It was glossed over very quickly :D

Still don't think she's as bad as some of the others for talking over people though. Pippa was driving me nuts recently when I was trying to find out about the slippers she was supposed to be selling. Instead she was screeching about putting bins out and everything else but.

Cripes, Judge Judy would sort them all out on Q, PDQ - she takes no prisoners! Can you imagine Kathy in front of her? Judge J would tell her to stop mumbling and get to the point! She is so vague and garrulous, but actually tells you diddly-squat.

Hi Welcome to the world of (in your case)semi retirement.Warning it can expose you to experiences you would never in full working life come into contact with.Namely Kathy's mumblings, nice lady but difficult to watch at times. The way I look at it I did 'my time' in full employment (lucky me!) & could now watch 'nothing telly' in the day without an ounce of conscience!

I find her by far the least irritating. Yes she does do all the things mentioned and perhaps speaking isn't her strength, however she is not really shouty and aggressive like Jill Franks / Flint.

I knew who you meant just from the thread tile LATI! :mysmilie_17:

Kathy must have a fanbase as she keeps on keeping on. She must sell enough to keep any HR types at bay. But it does seem the presenters with the worst habits are working in the morning to early afternoon. Kathy and Simon are unwatchable these days. I think my tolerance limit has shrunk drastically!

I really can't see what people have against her. You are all quick to complain about the slick, polished shouty types, then someone relatively ordinary comes on and you complain! Kathy Tayler has forged quite a long career in TV, it seems. I don't know how I would fare doing that job. Probably not very well, I would think. Imagine having to put a positive spin on all that overpriced tat, having someone tell you in your ear what to do all the time, to try and look natural under baking studio lights with your face caked in heavy make-up? I think Kathy is by far one of the better presenters. I remember once when she was presenting a webcam and after a few minutes she said: "I don't know what more there is to say about this. There's only so much you can say about a webcam, isn't there?!" I actually laughed out loud. I like her honesty and she doesn't seem like someone with many airs and graces. She doesn't do the "I simply couldn't LIVE without this" routine. She has a nice appearance and her voice isn't grating.

Julius have you watched her doing a full show lately? The woman seems to have had a personality transplant, and not for the better.

She does several hours in a row most days of the week - if that isn't enough opportunity to become compentant I don't know what it would take. A pet gerbil could cut it.

Julius, Julius, Julius, your vitriolic, acerbic posts are quick to "complain" about almost anyone and everything 99.9% of the time, so people in glass houses an' all that........... Just because KT doesn't say she loves everything, doesn't make her a good presenter, the stuttering, interrupting and that painful, confused look on her face makes for excruciating viewing, you find yourself holding your breath egging her on to finish her sentence, yes it's that painful. Anyway, each to their own I suppose.

Yes, and its very questionable how she's been able to do it ! Damn good Agent I think. An athlete in her younger days, and built her CV up on that with travel shows etc etc. But everyone has a shelf life - even Judith Chalmers knew when to give up.

They should have kept Debby Greenwood and gave Kathy the push in my opinion. And I couldn't agree more with MAYMAYL, that the dire presenters are exposed early morning, clearly when the school run and work travel is in progress, so a slow time of day for shifting products.

If I don't like / approve of something I generally say so quite robustly - as do many on here. I just personally don't have a problem with Kathy Tayler. But then this is a forum and people are entitled to air their views. I just find KT much better than Jill Franks with her gasping "me, me, me" approach. I struggle to understand how Jill Franks can remain presenting. Her approach is something I find far more irritating.

I agree wholeheartedly about Jill Franks and I'd be the first to defend people's right to say whatever they want, it was just the bit were you (of all people) commenting on people complaining which tickled me. :mysmilie_17: anyway like I say, each to their own. :mysmilie_3:

On a forum like this one will come across a range of opinions. Yes my posts may be acerbic at times, however it doesn't mean to say that I cannot say something nice if I want to.
