I'm sure I've heard AY and the OPI girls say you can get up to ten manicures out of a mini bottle. Well I flipping can't. Two or three is about the max. There's still polish left after that but getting enough on the brush to do each nail is impossible. I'll accept that I have very long nails but even so. I'll not bother to buy minis again as its just not worth it.

I've never believed them. I can only just get that out of a big bottle.
Either they're lying or they only use one coat.
I know what i think!

I can get quite a few out of a big bottle but precisely how many I've never really thought. I mainly keep my finger nails natural. It's my toe nails that get the colour.

No I can't get more than 3 or 4 at best out of them either

I love OPI in general but find the brushes in their mini bottles are pretty naff .... those tiny bottles are so fiddly-faffy to use too. Handy to try out a new colour maybe but thats about all.

I've only had mini nail polishes a couple of times and although at first I thought they were a bit fiddly, I heard a presenter say you need to load the brush up with colour and apply in a couple of stroke and found that really made a difference. I actually find the mini sizes quite handy, especially if it's a 'fashion' colour you know you'll only use a couple of times. I've got a huge nail polish stash of different brands I've succumbed to over the years and there's no way I'll get use them all up even if I'm still around another 40 years! I get too bored wearing the same colour so the full size bottles rarely get used more than a couple of times. I should have been only buying mini sizes all along. I can recommend SpaRitual nail polishes, which also come in mini sizes.

That's my problem though. I can't get enough polish on the brush to do the whole nail in one go. Having just moaned to a friend about it she said it was my fault for having talons !! Blumming cheek. I dunno what she means!!

Lovely nails Tinkerbelle. How do you keep them in that condition? I'd love nails like that. I've used quite a few nail treatments but don't get the results.

I use nail envy and take vitamin supplements but I've pretty much always had "talons". I'm careful not to use harsh nail polish removers. The only time I've had a real problem with them is when I used Shella. I think it was the acetone that did it.

my sister, a nail polish "expert" :clapping: doesn't think very highly of the minis for the same reason. She applies 2 or 3 very thin coats and gets a lovely finish but only gets 2 or 3 toes-and-finger manicures from one bottle. I've bought her one of those gel nails kits for Christmas on the understanding that she does my manicure for me too (not told her yet:cool:).

I did wonder if she was being a bit generous when she said 10 full manicures , I assume you went for the advent box , I must admit I was very tempted , but didnt bother in the end , I sometimes pop a tiny drop of nail polish remover in to the bottles I have here just to stretch them to do another manicure , shame there not doing the full 10 manicures though

only takes me 35 mins to do mine but i am quite good at doing my dominant hand as i'm lefthanded and have had to adapt to a right handed world. it takes me about 35 mins to take off the old gel varnish as i do one hand and reuse the foils for the second hand i do it the night before and put loads of nail creams on my nails overnight

It was the recent OPI try me that had a mix of "treatments" and polishes. The mini avoplex oil is great to take to work and I have used the polishes but I'm not sure that they're as good value as is implied. Still we live and learn.

I love the idea of the gel kits but previous experience has put me right off. But I do honestly prefer my nails natural most of the time so I'll live.
