I would have preffered it if it was leather rather than patent. I am fully expecting to send this back, but I would like to see what it's like in real life!

Am I missing a point about China? We know there is a huge mark up on her bags, but not as much as other designers.

I'm not really bothered about China, it's a fact of life that so much stuff is made there. I'm the same MK I need to see it in the flesh to decide.

300 quid ....crikey ....easy pays ....ya need easy pays on that let's face it ......when I hear Lulus voice i think of the public i formation film with charlie the cat ...meowing at children not to goof with strangers ....showing my age now :mysmilie_17:

Years ago now ...prob on you tube ....

I think she needs some new ideas. A lot of her bags are very very similar and it`s as if she`s stuck in a time warp and unable to move past lips, quilting and patent.

lips, quilting and patent are iconic of her brand and have set her up for life, so why change something that works?

The prices are becoming ridiculous. 127407, the Perspex lipstick clutch, £345? And, to add insult to injury, £6.95 to receive it! When you consider BEYONCE is getting one, it's a steal. I suppose if you are something of a sheep, and allow what the "celebs" are wearing, dictate what you wear, then you wouldn't think twice about spending this kind of money on what, essentially, is an occasion bag, it is not an everyday bag, which can be used anytime, any place. If it was, at least it would pay for itself through use. Dawbags earlier was gushing about a bag, and started a sentence with "You've really...", which Lulu finished with "surpassed myself?" nothing like modesty!
I still can't comprehend why ALL of the presenters suck up to her so much, she certainly wasn't even a household name pre the Q. Yes, most of us had heard of her, but she wasn't an upper echelon designer by any means. Can't see them giving Leighton the same treatment, since being awarded his MBE.

I like Lulu. She doesn't live in the real world with the rest of us, but I can't help but smile when she's presenting on Q.

I know she is Bi-Polar and suffers with crippling depression, so I can't help having a hell of a lot of respect for her to honest to still manage to do what she does.

Don't get me wrong, she'll never have had to run the hoover round the house or wash a dish after dinner, but I still really like her.

Edit, this is an interesting read IMO

True she`s made her money out of lips, quilting and patent but IMO designers should always be striving for something new and exciting. Something which keeps old customers interested and invites new customers because they haven`t seen anything like it before. I have an LG bag bought years ago when she was new, innovative and her bags were like dolly mixtures, vast and varied in styles, colour and materials, each one speaking for itself and not a carbon copy of another. I still love it all these years later and I think for LG lovers to have her bring something totally different to Q, something which shows she`s still got it, still using her artistic mind and still interested in thinking outside of the box would really be a tsv to covet. I realise she has to produce something which is cost effective and can be mass produced but sadly I get the feeling she just doesn`t have that designer instinct anymore and is happy to wheel out incarnations of past tsv`s but with slight little differences. I understand not everybody feels the same, that`s fair enough but for her price point I can`t help feeling there should be more design effort put into it for the money.

The super-shiny high gloss patent she often uses is unbelievably glossy and I've always loved formal and structured bags so the range suits me. I do understand that choice of bags is very subjective. I also use a few Kipling bags when I can't carry a heavier bag but I don't get so attached to them.

It's growing on me in other colours too but I'm trying to stay strong. If I buy another pollyanna I'd more likely buy a smooth patent one; but the TSV in black and red are luscious! It's funny how much my opinions has changed from my first impression, but that was based on the pictures that look matt rather than patent. I should probably go scrub some floors or do the ironing so I don't talk myself into buying another one.

Anyone spotted any LG OTOs?

Eeek what am I saying!

I am eyeing up the black too!! First time for me to switch on today and guess what is coming on?!! Argh!! Go scrub Akimbo, I'm going to do dishes and bake - la la la I am not looking or listening! !

(Apparently red and indigo had the least stock to start with)

I agree with your observations Mr Marple. I think she is entertaining and eccentric. I really like her.

Lulu just said that 126063 looks like it costs £1000 ...um no it doesn't love.....so paying 300 quid is a real bargain then! .......

I know i know ....l will be quiet now....sorry ladies ....:mysmilie_11:

Thanks for that post, MrMarple - it's put Lulu Guinness in a whole new light for me. I love watching her because she's just herself and obviously from a whole different world to me. Personally, though, I'd never pay that much for a handbag (being an ebay girl and all that ie just plain skinflint) but I love the Pollyanna bag and given a bottomless pit of money, I'd probably blow some of it on the large in black. But my lifestyle and my purse don't justify that, and Kipling does it for me so end of, really.

I think the presenters fawn over her because they're scared she might say exactly what she thinks of them on air - you go, girl! Lulu rocks.

God this is tempting. I've never been fussed about owning a LG handbag before but I have completely fallen in love with the TSV in the stone colour. I could almost hang it up on the wall to admire! Oh, must be strong...

I had to have a lie down; a headache brought on by thoughts of handbags and scrubbing. Woke up to find the red is on waitlist so I ordered it! I'm pleading temporary insanity (though DH will no longer accept this defence as he says it isn't temporary!). At least it gives me a cooling off period. I did the same with the patent Paula TSV, ordered the black on waitlist and then talked myself out of it and cancelled. I wish we could still order by cheque because that was a good way to delay the final decision, but I can understand how it annoyed QVC as well as being outdated these days.

Fawning over a fellow human being is yuck imho....they eat sleep talk...everything like the rest of us ....sorry but that's how leaders of cults get there power ....I know extreme example but ...yuck ...

This might be a stupid question, but is it a leather bag? For all the rambling on screen and write up on the website I can't seem to find out??

And to Lulu Guinness enthusiasts, do these bags last? Are they heavy?

So tempted. I know some would never pay £300 for a bag, but I work hard for my money and will spend it on what I please!
