I am a suitcase freak. I admit that I must have something pathological wrong with me.

Ever since I was little I have loved anything compartmentalised and little gadgets to take away with me on holiday.

It is six years since I last went on an aeroplane and to be quite honest with you I cannot see any more foreign holidays figuring in my future.

Nevertheless, I could not resist ordering this case. I liked it in its first incarnation but was put off by reports of wheels coming off and zipa breaking.

It has arrived today and on the whole I am pleased with it. No, I am not jumping up and down with excitement but I am pleased.

I shall appraise it if I may.

Well, it is not lightweight as Lori would have us believe.

I have the cheetah and as I expected, it is quite a darkish colour.

The zips are difficult to open and if I were to be rough with it then they "could" break, I am sure but I shall go easily with them.

I would only use it in the car for my own use and would not lend it out or deposit it in the hold of a plane for I would not trust anyone else with these zips.

The two side pockets are NOT large enough for electrical items in my opinion but on the plus side there is an extra external zipped pocket on each of these side pockets as well.

Only the main zippered central section and the front pocket have two way zips. Sadly the zip pulls are solid. If they had rings on the end of them then the zips could be padlocked together. At the moment this would be difficult with tiny little padlocks.

The side pockets only have one zip.

Also, the side pockets appear puckered and not as flat and streamlined as on branded cases.

However, like I say, the chances of my using this case for a leisure trip now are slim so as a case to own and look at and daydream about foreign climes then I am quite satisfied.

Your opinions of yours ladies.

GemGenie - mine is the older style which is 3" shorter. I used mine on modelling jobs and it was compact and organised and stowed all my shoes, hair accessories, makeup etc. The plastic pouches made finding things so easy-other models and dressers were curious, examining the bag and the hook pouches, asking where I bought it. Now, because of my health, it stores my sewing/quilting supplies neatly. I bought one for a speaker-friend - it holds her laptop, projector, change of clothes/shoes/slippers, makeup, snacks/water, supplies, handouts, books - she's organised and presentable with very little effort. And is always asked about her pink bag; she loves it and the colour! I hope you enjoy yours. x Snarly

Mine has not even been shipped yet! I did order mine late in the day though once I had asked my husband to take a look at it on air. I too adore functional cases, bags and toilettry bags, which is why I love kipling. We only have really cr**py luggage and I know we will use this case in the car and I will definitely be able to use it on the train. I am always on the train so for that amazing price I know it will get used and used. No flights for us for a couple of years at least, but I am hoping for a weekend away around our anniversary snd daughter's birthday later this year. My husband said I could buy it as long as he doesn't have to pull it!

I will of course post an appraisal when it arrives but I hope my Babyliss travel hairdryer fits in the side compartment, along with Clarisonic charger and phone charger.

I travel light but I won't just be putting my bits and bobs in there.

Snarly, you are a model?? I had no idea. I did wonder how you knew the modelling tricks. Wonder what your views are of the critique the Q models get on here, but maybe that's another thread.

And why "Snarly".... sorry to ask but for a model, why not "smiley"!!!

I can not understand why they don't make it a little smaller so it could be used as a carry-on for a plane. But then of course if it was stuffed full it would be over the regulation hand luggage weight of 5kg.

So I have always resisted - but think they look good for weekends away in this country.

Saying that I have seen lots in the Outlet and some of them have been quite badly damaged - broken zips and handles etc, so this has always put me off buying.

@WeatherGirl - hiya, I chose Snarly as it's tongue-in-cheek, mostly! I worked in HR and knew a big, burly FireChief who called his wife of 35+ years, Snarly in the most affectionate way. Poignant to see him fighting fires, looking out for his staff, doing press conferences about tragedies; then to see the softer side of him with 'Snarly' always made me smile. I was a part-time model and full-time HR manager, illness put an end to that. My life did a few! 360° spinouts. Went to London 4 years ago applying to HighStreetShop (InMoreThan80Countries)as fitting model, 1 day a month. Good news, I was offered the job, and they would pay my travelling expenses from Wales (agency amazed at that). Bad news, it took me weeks to recover from that one-day train journey so that was that. My heart and soul said yes and body said, NO! When I post on here, I wear many hats! lol I would love to do voiceovers, we have to have our dreams to keep us going. x Snarly

Debating whether to take my case down to my daughter's this afternoon to show her all the pockets after I pick up the grandchildren from school.

Can't be bothered to be honest as it is too heavy to lug somewhere for nothing. It is very cubic.

I just wish I had the lifestyle for it.

It would be lovely if I popped here and there for weekends. Those days have gone.

I told my other daughter about it. It would have suited her down to the ground as she has to pop here and there for overnighters with her work and needs to carry a laptop too. She wasn't interested though. I bet she would be if I offered to give her this one. Well she's not having it.

Hey Snarly bet you looked ****** fab as a model. Life throws us all a few spanners though doesn't it. I knew from reading your posts that your health wasn't perfect.

But at least you were a model eh? Few of us ever get the chance or are made up the right way to get the chance. Why not go for the VoiceOver work. Loads if corporate video firms out there use VoiceOver artists. Go for it.

GemGenie. You're all prepared ready for an outing. In the meantime, it can organise your Q goodies/ChristmasStuff/Knitting/Sewing/Craftmaking/NailPolishes/Makeup etc. Put a doilie over it and use it as a bedside table. lol Thanks, Tinkerbelle for your encouragement! I didn't start 'til I was 29, to boost my self-confidence/esteem. I was a plus-size (14/16) so didn't compete with the youngsters or skinnies, it was a good niche really. Mwah! and Cwtch/hug! x Snarly

Roll on SWWales Fashion Week Snarly...then you wouldn't have far to travel. I'm not a good traveller either...we're like fine wines!

Let it be a lesson to me to never watch qvc when I at home with a cold.. I turn on for a few mins and Lori is on and I was intrigued.. then I see the TSV and never before had I ordered a TSV so quick! I don't know why! I love suitcases as well..and the organisation..and the 360 wheels! Such a shame it's not an inflight bag though.. wouldve sold more if it was probably! I ordered the Zebra but havent received it yet.
I am going away next month and would be perfect if it was an inflight but would have to check in and need to bring a lot more stuff back from Spain as a friend of mine has stuff of mine I need back so dont want to forfeit luggage allowance just so I could use this case! Shame though! I know it will have lots of other use though.. I use the bus and train quite a lot and mum could borrow it as she travels to look after my nephew (her grandchild).. not sure she would like the zebra though! I am looking forward to receiving it! Also thinking about getting the mini handbags and inserts!! Strange I love organisation in bags but hate tidying and organising bedrooms! :D

Thank you for the feed back Gem Genie and Snarly.

I have dithered about this case each time I've seen it and it is lovely to hear the 'real' version of quality, zips etc.

I watched it being presented a couple of times and it ANNOYED me greatly that so little was made of the dimensions ( I think once it flashed up
17" X 17" X something ) Even then they did not follow it with cm's. ( ALL the airlines list their regulations in cm - and they ALL differ ! )
The info was probably available online but that's not the point.

In this day and age much is made of travelling with luggage that has to be of a VERY SPECIFIC size, eg 55 X 40 X 20 cm (Ryanair) comes to mind !!
(Carry on luggage) and I think this information should be given during each presentation as a priority.

On the presentation I saw in the afternoon the presenter (Debbie Flint I think it was) made a point of saying that it was too big for overhead luggage compartments on a plane and therefore would be too big for hand luggage but you could use it as checked in luggage. It is not the sort of bag you would want for checked in luggage in my opinion - much more suitable for a carry on. Also if it was suitable for a carry on - it would weigh far too much when stuffed full - most airlines only allow about 5kg hand luggage. The bag itself with all the wheels and handles etc probably weighs nearly that empty.

I think they should have displayed a size/weight chart on-screen and on-web. You MaryPortas or WomenWhoLaunch, here's a project for you. Make one that fits UK/Europe and you have Q UK/Germany/Italy covered. Probably Japan too. USA will be a doddle. Give the customer what s/he wants and get that patent registered. Meet airline regulations, check. Sturdy zippers, check. Quality fabric, check. Sturdy, retractable wheels, check. Wider gussets, check. Sturdy handle, check. Variety of colour choices, check. Lockable zips, check. British or EU-made, check. Matching luggage with strap to fit over, check. "Somebody Stop Me" in my best Jim Carey voice.

Minim - quite the linguist to your other talents, cariad. Thank you! Diolch! Merci! Danke! @Rosie-that little smooshball of fluff always makes me smile!

Mine has been dispatched but not received yet. I hope I like it. I know it can be returned and QVC will arrange collection but it will still have cost a packet in P&P to look at it.

Weight wise, I don't think they ever got round to telling us what the case weighed. It was demonstrated how easy it was to wheel the case but it was an empty case, not a full one. I hope it's alright and I like it. Wish I could stop my impulse buys.

Debbie did make the point that it couldn't be used as hand luggage in Europe but Lori said it could on an American flight! That probably explains why they didn't make much of the measurements, trying to pull the wool over our eyes! I was very tempted but worked out it would be no good for my Easyjeyt flight. Snarly maybe they need to employ you as a consultant

@DollyDimple - I was going to weigh mine and tell you but mine is the NotDeluxe version ie: older style. @yesilkedi -I agree with you about the WoollenPulloverEyes (just joshing). I am sure the postie and courier people think I am a secret shopper for Q already. x Tell-it-like-it-is Snarly

Have received my zebra one. Hmmmmmmmm....... it IS heavy empty it must be said, and even if it was allowed as cabin luggage there is NO way I would be able to hoist it to head height to get it in the overhead compartments. Equally with the sticky out wheels I wouldn't even use it for checking in luggage. I did notice Lori 'heaving' it from the floor to the display table, but assumed there was stuff in it. No it is what it is, a good weekend case on wheels for use on trains (Eurostar ?) or the car.

I need to start weekending somewhere as I was suckered into buying the Atlanta weekender on wheels a few years ago - NOW THEY WERE ok, I bought two - one in pink and one in green for a friend. Still in use today.
