Wow that brings back memories of my typing classes!! This is very odd, but my typing teacher randomly popped into my head yesterday -28 years on...I too used to love the old manual machines.

All together now girls "asdfg space colon lkjh space" ooh no colon on here, how things have changed!

Yes i remember asdfg etc. Got a job shorthand typing at 16. Helps me use
the laptop a bit. Then we had electric typewriters, WOW . Then i left to have children

It was asdfg SEMICOLON lkj (just to be pedantic). My wife was a typing teacher and I was her guinea pig.

I was looking for the video (I think) of a touch typist just converted to a word processor, when doing carriage return she sweeps the screen off the desk.

I learned to touch type at evening classes after I left school. I used to take the typewriter home after class to practice. All the keys were covered with yellow plastic covers except the F & J which were red.
