Large rises in postal charges

Help Support ShoppingTelly:

I shall be warning everyone that only family will be receiving Xmas cards this year! I get my Xmas cards in charity shops in the sale, normally send out about 100, but the stamps would far outweigh the cards in cost so I ain't doing it! As to QVC, I await with interest to see what happens to the already OTT P & P charges!

I'm sure that many others will follow suit BM !

This is interesting. I too have ME and terrible fibromyalgia and haven't come across anyone else so far who also suffers. I'm interested in this idea of Epsom salts reducing pain - that's something I've not heard of before. I will also check with my water provider and see what they have to offer. Thanks!!
Snap I have FMS, Osteoarthritis and Cervical Spondylitis ..... I didn`t know that about the water either

Damned if I know, did'nt involve myself with posting stuff, the parents did that - I was more interested in having a lipstick for 1/6d, a pair of tights for 1/11d and saving up for a 'decent' pair of shoes for 49/11d !

Oh happy days Brissles! I'd get my approx £4 in wages and after I'd paid £2 board there was more week than money but what could beat getting into C & A and buying a nice dress for the Saturday night dancing for 29/11!!!

If you are applying for DLA, persevere; it can be a very lengthy process taking many months even years. I do know of instances, where applicants re-apply every 3 months so they do not wait for say, 15 months for the first refusal, and only then reapply. Not putting all their eggs in one basket. All the best, Snarly

Back to the stamps, Superdrug have an offer on postage stamps at the moment, just be sure the price isn't printed on the stamp, just 1st or 2nd class. I'm hoping to get some at the weekend.

I've just seen that it is a 5% discount on a book of stamps. I think WH Smith are doing the same.

well bugger me, I went in there and got ten books of 12 2nd class stamps this morning and paid £43.20 - that's right if they're currently 36p ..wot happened to my discount I wonder?!

have never applied for anything Snarly - I wouldn't know where to start! I read in the paper last week a letter from a lady of 69 diagnosed with breast cancer...she contacted some charity (forget which) to ask for some help - first question "what benefits do you get?" - answer "none" - reply "sorry, can't help you" - what kind of frigging country do we live in where someone like that can't even get any help from a cancer charity because she's not on benefits?
