Right! I am going to give that a go too! Luckily i don't have horizontal lines on my forhead and just a few crows feet. But the 1,111s are quite prominent so nothing ventured etc. I was 50 on Wednesday, but I don't look any older than I did when I was 49 he he! Thanks for info.

Happy belated birthday for Wednesday Itchy. I'm going to go and get some of the serum and hand cream-lol keep us posted on how it works for you.

This never occurred to me either. I was thinking I've seen her look better, but that goes for us all. I never thought she had had work done. If she had, and it hadn't healed up yet, I don't think she would be back at work.

I don't think for a moment that she has had anything done. Just caught her on with Rene and thought she was looking good - as usual.:hi:

i agree with donna, i think it's the lighting. as i said on another thread, in my opinion, julia looked the best i've ever seen her look on the tsv show. someone tweeted asking what she'd had done and she made a point of saying nothing and that she never would. however she didn't have a line on her face. hmmm. BUT everyone is looking good - so either ken paves and mally are miracle workers but as we've seen them both before, i think it's more likely they finally got the lighting more than right. remember how even the models looked awful in the first days of the new sets? i don't know the first thing about tv lighting, other than hearing about the vaseline trick but maybe there are 'soft' lights or something.

her cheeks look a little too plump makes her mouth look thin and her teeth look dreadful yes I agree she looks better for regaining a little of the weight she lost, but it was my son who said she looked odd. her bags under eeslooked worse last night too. I hate saying this about her as she is my favourite presenter. I was thinking botox to be honest not a surgical procedure brave lady I say as it can and does go wrong

I think Julia looked really smashing last night on the Mally show. I think she looks good when she gets the make-up, hair and clothes right and know that she looks good, just like all of us. If I know I look good, I feel good, and that knowledge inside me will show outside, I am sure. Julia wore a dress that suited her, her hair looked good and she had some make up that suited her, so is it any wonder that she looked great? Her lips sometimes do look thin, but that depends on the lipstick she is using. Some days her lips look just lovely, again that depends on the particular lipstick she has used,
Last night she looked many years younger than she actually is.She also looked very happy. Don't we all look better when we are happy? Julia actually denied any work and unless she is proved to be lying, I for one believe her.

Quite a few on facebook saying how great Kathy Taylor is looking too. So I think its Mally and different lighting in the studio.
Kathy has lost some weight and it suits her and with the right clothes, she looks really nice, nicer than for a very long time, but yesterday she looked not so nice in that bright jeans and tops from the Annalee and Hope line. She looked lumpy and ill clothed . I felt like ringing QVC and asking Kathy to change into something different.
So it just shows that clothes that suits us makes a lot of difference.

I caught some of the show last night and commented to my OH that Julia looked amazing. I actually thought that her under eye area looked much better, the make up generally was beautiful. I wish I could get a makeover with Mally. I do believe also that they have sorted the lighting out now. By the way, I am currently watching Mally, and I just wish Ali Young would SHUT UP! Mally can hardly get a word in edgeways. It was so much better last night when Julia was on with Mally and let her do most of the talking.

I've been watching Julia's face, specifically her eye bags, for a long time.
I suspected that like me, she had a sensitivity to sulphates. Persistent use of something you are sensitive to can do damage & in my case sulphates wrecked the skin around my eyes, gave me huge eye bags and caused significant hair loss all over my body. Most people put such deterioration down to ageing and most of the time that is the cause, but it some rare cases it seems to speed up the process. According to a specialist I saw, the damage had kicked in quite a long time ago. He could tell by the thickness of my lids, my body's response to what was in a sense poisoning me and no cream created was going to reverse the damage. Keeping well away from sulphates would halt it, but only more invasive treatment could reverse it.
At one point I considered writing to Julia & suggesting she might want to investigate the possibility that something she was using was exacerbating the appearance of her eye bags, but as soon as the thought flashed in my mind, I decided that that would be too personal.
When Lulu made a comment about a presenter and eye bags when she was flogging her eye cream range, Alison Young said that Julia had a problem with sulphates so she knew already.

I would say be careful with what you use. Some anti-ageing potions are very powerful.
One of the authors of 'The Beauty Bible', either Jo Fairley or Sarah Stacey - can't remember which one sorry - puts her sensitivity down to using all the lotions & potions she has been given over the years to test/sample.
Natural skin care ranges can also be problematic.
Minim, could you please name a few products that have this sulphates? I have never looked for the ingredients closely before, other than the alcohol content, because that makes my skin dry.
Does it usually say sulphates or do they come in "disguised" forms?

I still can't see Julia's had anything done. But actually what's it matter one way or the other? Julia obviously takes good care of herself and if she decides to have Botox or go under the knife then she can do whatever she pleases.

Perhaps she's been using the cheap Aldi wrinkle stop as my number 11's have nearly gone in just over a month since I've been using it once a day.

I have no other wrinkles other than the 11 that bother me. I call these my "pain" marks, I suffered from chest, and abdominal pains for over 6 months before someone actually found the cause and I got the treatment. I used to screw my face up when I had the pains :) Now they look like frown marks.

Oooh interesting! I use the Aldi serum and their anti ageing handcream. Both of them are really good. I looked at the wrinkle stop but did not get it. I dont have no 11s. I have 1,111s (Seriously) Were your lines deep Anne? Mine are pretty deep which makes me think nothing would make any difference.
:giggle: that 1, 111 made me laugh.

Itchy, they seemed to go really deep overnight as did the lines on my forehead and I kid you not they have nearly gone. Am finding the eyecream at £1.49 ****** good as well. I'm 50 this year and I was moaning to my 21 year old DD about the redness I have on my face to her. She said "So what Mum you've no wrinkles" . Made my day!
I look good except for this 11s which are making me unhappy, and if there is anything that will help me, it will be God sent:happy:
I do not need eye cream.

Looks like we will both be hot-footing it to Aldi then!

 if it works, I will . I have used their day cream in the past and I have only praise for it, it smelled very nice and it did moisturise the face. I tried their Q10 Restorative cream, I only used it twice, because I don't like its greasy texture . So I don't know if it is any good.
Then I bought lots of QVC's products, and since they are expensive, I am finishing them (will be years I think:giggle: )
None of these expensive creams have done anything for my 11s

Blimey she is only 3 years younger than my mum! She looks absolutely amazing, and my mum doesn't look too bad either.

Can I just say that there are a lot of internet sites out there that are quite dramatic, for example -
http://www.naturesparadiseorganics.com/dangersofsulfates.html

This is slightly better -
http://www.treatment-skincare.com/Active-Ingredients/SLS.html

More & more people are reporting sensitivity to some ingredients, but just because some people react, it does not mean everybody will.

Right, to answer your question, 'sulphates' (sulfates USA) is being used as a blanket term for a group of harsh cleansing ingredients used in skin and personal care products. In my case sodium lauryl/laureth sulfate (SLS) has an immediate effect.
'Sulphate' is not the only bad boy. Sometimes a skin care range can develop a name for an ingredient in their product(s) & you have no way of knowing what it actually is.

Here are some chemicals that people with sensitivity issues are advised to avoid

Paula Begoun has an excellent ingredient dictionary

Um, just wondering - why would she need to state the fact that she hasn't had any work done ? seems an odd admission without being asked. I'm almost 64 and privileged to be told that I could pass for 10 years younger, but it doesn't make me blurt out that I haven't had 'work' done.
