well it certainly seems there's some genetic link Breeze, with your Dad and aunt doing the same thing, but to me certainly it seems unusual, I think redheads usually go lighter and end up a sort of pinky-grey, so actually I think you're better off as you are! As to reds, I don't wear much but definitely a blue red as opposed to an orange red. Pastels I used to avoid, but Sue told me I can wear what she called "ice" pastels, and I get it now, really really pale pastels - except lemon!! You've tried a fuchsia pink & purples then - I can understand it being scary after a lifetime of autumn type colours, but if it suits you, go with it! I wish I'd still got my book so I could look up a bit more for you, obviously I only boned up on Winter!

I pretty much did myself from a young age and I told step DD not to spend her money when I was 95% sure I was a winter, but she just wanted me to go and enjoy the experience, so I went! And Sue who did DD and me, was a lovely lady and certainly not at all "up herself" can I say!

I had my colours done by a guy who trains Colour Me Beautiful consultants as well as "doing" clients. It was a really enjoyable experience as he's a very funny and charming bloke and absolutely not "up himself".

As someone else mentioned if you buy things following the suggestions then items tend to go together so your wardrobe is more flexible.

THE THEORY OF COLOUR ANALYSIS

Colour analysis is based on the findings of Swiss expressionist painter Johannes Itten (1888-1967). He noticed that when his students painted identical scenes, some would use 'warm' colours, while others would opt for 'cool' ones. In 1947 he researched this further and discovered that those students using mostly warm colours for their paintings had gold-toned skin with blonde hair and dark, warm-coloured eyes.
However, the students who used cool colours had a blue-pink tone to their skin, ash hair and cool-coloured eyes. Instinctively, the students were naturally drawn to their individual colour tone.

Hadn't come across that one before Min, well done on your usual thorough research! I am definitely Cool & Bright!

it's all over the internet. first line was enough for me

Winter: (cool) You natural hair color is usually dark and you have brown, hazel, dark blue, grey or green eyes.

does that leave anything??

You could be describing my late brother-in-law. Paul Newman eyes, black hair.

Liz Taylor had violet eyes. Drop dead gorgeous eyes.
A boy I was in school with had the most peculiar colour I'd ever seen. They were the colour of marmalade, I kid you not!

Heck Min! He didn't work for an IT company named after a fruit did he??

I think that combination is often Gaelic. My son is dark and olive skinned like me but has beautiful grey/green eyes. Quite unusual. The little devil has eyelashes like paintbrushes too.

No, he was a Deputy Headmaster.
My mother said the blue eyes/ dark hair combo was Irish, but I don't know if that's fact or her observations.
An aunt (my mother's sister in fact) had dark brown eyes and very fair hair. Another combo that is striking.

Being half Irish myself I have pale white skin and natural auburn hair (which I colour brown with blonde slices) and bright blue eyes. I have always preferred the pale and interesting look over slapping a load of tan on. I'm that pale that when I sun burn, I actually blister!! Ouch!

Brown eyed girls are so lucky, they need only a lick of mascara and their eye makeup is done. I dont have brown eyes btw.

There is flipside to that Bauble. I've got dark brown eyes with lots of visible eyelid and I can't really wear eyeshadow at all. My eyes look best with a flick of eyeliner and a bit of mascara. Too much eyeshadow looks wrong. its a bit boring!

ok ok, shades of blue but they still covered every colour. i never believed the violet eyed thing personally. she can't be the only person to have ever had purple eyes!

i really like very pale blue eyes like kara tritton's. i know a lot of people don't like them and call them snake eyes but they do it for me.

Oh Im surprised you find that about wearing eyeshadow Tinkerbelle, as I noticed all the models for the make up shows seem to have a good visible eyelid area IYKWIM. God eyelid area- brainwashed by AY!

One of my tutors did Colour Me Beautiful and a few years ago at a charity event she needed volunteers.

They no longer do the Spring etc, I was classed as Soft Warm. My eyes change colour depending on what I am wearing bright blue or blue/green or blue/gray. She classed me as having multi toned eyes. My family history is Viking via the Orkneys and Kent. I was a natural blond as a child and darkened to a dark blond in later years.

I remember getting the Colour Me Beautiful book in the 80s and could not figure out what I was.

Don't suit white or black but winter whites and browns.

They remind me of huskies eyes.
